Yes, LIJ Red, this is an excellent Halloween bedtime story, and I published it twenty-nine years ago in a firefighters magazine! I am glad to share my story with people today. Thanks for your review.

WOW amazing children's story for Halloween and based on a real-life incident of fire and neighbors who helped extinguish that fire. Very well written. I really love reading anything written with children in mind because I know they're going to be mild, wholesome, fun and entertaining and with nice little lessons. Unlike adult horrors...:(

WOW amazing children's story for Halloween and based on a real-life incident of fire and neighbors who helped extinguish that fire. Very well written. I really love reading anything written with children in mind because I know they're going to be mild, wholesome, fun and entertaining and with nice little lessons. Unlike adult horrors...:(

Thank you, Anabella, for giving my story its first six star review. I first wrote and published "The Ghost Pumpkin Fire Brigade" twenty-nine years ago in a firefighters' magazine. I am amazed that I took a horrible incident of nearly being burned by bigots on Halloween night and transformed it into a "mild, wholesome, fun and entertaining" story for children. I stood by my story twenty-nine years ago and I stand by it today. It is a good yarn. I am glad you recognized it. Thanks again.

The thing I am overjoyed about is that you actually mention 'Stingy Jack' I have just done a poem about him and not many reviewers knew the story, brilliant writing that would enthrall any youngster from 4yrs to 12 years.

When I reviewed your excellent poem on "Stingy Jack" I mentioned that I had written and published a story that mentioned him twenty-nine years ago. It was my first published story.
