I thought that there was an excellent use of imagery in your writing, visionary. Your writing flowed well and was cleverly constructed. I particularly liked the last night: I'll fiercely love the sunlight...and I'll dance...An excellent piece, good luck in the contest...Jacob

This meets the contest requirements beautifully as the rhyme scheme, meter, and syllable count are well done. Your turn in the third stanza is excellent and turns the reader's thoughts to the capricious nature of fate. I wish you all the best in the judging and thank you for sharing it.

A sonnet with iambic pentameter and volta and all that, and a chilling thought in it's message. An excellent contest entry and contribution to the get well book.

What a beautifully written poem. Chance so easily turns our world to shade. But let us hope that Brooke has many more days to dance in the sunshine, and to rain sunshine upon as all with her verse. Here's to hoping a speedy recovery for Brooke.

_ This is just a great ending to your sonnet...
and time of shadow's end are ruled by chance,
I'll fiercely love the sunlight ... and I'll dance ...

-A very colorful photo and presentation to go with your poem.
-The sonnet is written well and follows all the guidelines required.
-I like the following lines because they come from the heart:
"a future comfortably warm; divine
with poetry of dandelions, prayer"
-The final quatrain expresses so well "caprice of fate"
-A very nice tribute to Brooke.

The slow, insidious, inexorable march of time towards...the end. You grasp this truth saliently, Sharyn. I don't quite share your view that 'knowing date and time of shadow's end are ruled by chance', however, there is no questioning that our days are numbered and that we should make the most of every opportunity...'make hay while the sun shines'.
Very nicely and eloquently expressed.

Aaah there you are my dear - thank you for your lovely sixer! So ... who or what rules YOUR number of days?? Or shouldn't I ask??? Thank you so much for your lovely six :)Sharyn
-
Of course you should ask! It is simply my faith in God - that higher power who holds life and death in his hands. I am on this planet for as long as he wants me to be here - not a day less or more. "Our times are in his hands", the psalmist wrote. It is rather comforting, I reckon. :)
-
I reckon it would be Antoine - I just have hard coming to terms with the 'bad things happen to good people' thing ...
