Dean;
+ A classic presentation of a really good terror tale that definitely can put the hair standing on and on any child who reads it. Very well written Dean with a great introduction to lead up to the scarier part of the story.
+ Excellent pictures to add to dramatic nature of the story in pictures that were very appropriate, relative and complementary to the story.
+ The story had just some terrific imagery that was terrifyingly descriptive throughout the writing. Especially the best part, this is what I think, is when the crows go into the barn but they never come out. That sets the whole tone for the story in creation all the mysterious adventure.
+ Thank you for sharing and posting this Dean and may the good Lord be with you always my friend.

You are so welcome Dean. Sometimes I can't put a finger on it but I do know how your poems make me feel. And as always one of complete and sincere interest in the poem makes you feel. This is what's so much fun in reading your styles of poetry. Take care my friend and God bless.

I'm slow. Had to read this a couple of times to "get" it.
I guess when the scarecrows turn human, they get locked away? Or am I way off track?

Hi, Dean, great flash fiction once again! Your tiny tales of terror are exquisite! This was very short and could be fleshed out more (get it, "fleshed out"), lol! Hope you are doing well my friend and apologies for missing posts. I've been off the site and hiking in the great outdoors for most of the last week, though we had snow today. All the best, Pete :)

An interesting write on the classic haunted house tale. Dean, I think you need more to make this a complete flash fiction tale. As it is, I can't see the point. I know you are great at horror, better than I, but I don't see this as a story, certainly it is part of old classics.
note:
"That's where they lock us away -- the bad scarecrows -- after we've...turned."
- who is speaking? Is it the man?

Hah, ha, I'm sure you'd hold your own just fine, Barb, LOL. And, as far as I know, I had a very normal, delightful childhood. Therefore I have absolutely no excuses to fall back on, other than the fact that I enjoy trying to scare people half to death. Is that wrong? Heh-heh...
I very much appreciate your review. :) ~Dean

Alright. Where in the hell did you get the statue of the dead scarecrow looking dude, my friend. You probably dug the sonofabitch up out of the ground, didn't you?
Scary....very scary and very effective, my friend. Blessings and the music is a nice touch, btw. Bob

Hah-hah, you know me all too well, Bob. I set it up in my own back yard, LOL...
Thanks for the sixer and the comments, my friend. I'm happy to see you've taken an interest in these tiny tales of terror with a twist. They are a lot harder to write and create than I initially thought they would be...Whew!>i> ;)

Now those are scary scarecrows. I'm with the kids; don't go near that barn again. You would think the birds would stay away from the area as well.
Your creepy little stories would make a good book once you get them completed.

OK, I am not so sure I get this one, but it sounds scary anyway and is well written, as always. The picture is pretty gruesome! Evi

Basically, Evi, the scarecrows held captive inside the old weathered barn have come to life, and one of them has escaped to confront a group of thrill-seeking kids. He (it) scares them all away, and no children ever return. That's about all there is to this story, my friend.
Thanks so much for your continued interest in this series. Your reviews are most helpful as well as appreciated. :) ~Dean

Hi, Dean...
LOL... I can so relate to this one.
When we lived in the country, just outside of Rockford, down the road was an old abandoned house, which of course we knew without ANY DOUBT was haunted!!
All of us neighbor kids used to dare and double dare each other to go in. Oh, well that was never going to happen on my watch!! LOL
Excellent write.
Been thinking about you. Hope all is working out, my friend. Take care.
Cheers & Blessings

I think we all had old places like this as kids that were reputed to be haunted, Jax. Thanks so much for your continued interest in this series. Your reviews are most helpful, as well as appreciated. :) ~Dean

Well, you did it again. You terrified me just before bedtime. I should have known better to read this. That scarecrow/skeletoncrow picture made my heart stop, too. This is a triumphant "Tiny Tales of Terror." Thank you for scaring. Now let me get out of here.
