The sea is a mystery and your poem stir the searching mind of myth. Dolphins can be the friend in need at the time lost in wonder. Thank you for sharing your darken thoughts. Shalom.

Many thanks, Ben. Dolphins do seem to suggest a light-hearted approach to life. In this respect, although somewhat endangered these days, they make a good metaphor.

Tony: applause, applause for originality. Bravo for short and to the point. A standing ovation for sharing your treasure chest of knowledge, legend and Greek mythology. And, the winner is . . . you and your readers. I'm not a fan of mythology, fairy dust, etc. but you put a dash of reality in this poem to keep my interest. Nice job. Linda

Thanks, Linda. The ancient gods were a moody lot! LOL. I don't mind the odd sprinkling of fairy dust, as an escape from real life. Not so good to drop too far into a fantasy world though!

Thank you for your author notes. Really enjoyed reading them and brought the poem to life as it was tied into Greek Mythology. Loved the poem so visual and descriptive...loved the last stanza and in particular...dragged into crystal caves where Neptune reigns in a futile pool of tears. Lovely words and a lovely illustration.
