    Ha-ha, yeah, those feline foibles always seem to be getting in the way of the perfect murder, don't they, Steve, LOL?

    Thanks so much for taking time out to R&R this for me. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

    God bless you as well, my friend!

    Damn work and these 12 hour days! I would have loved to write a piece for this one. My mind is feeling quite fowl this evening LOL! Good luck, as if you need it with this one.

    Ha, well, it looks as if I'll need all of the luck I can get, Steve, as it's getting roundly trounced right now in the voting. But, there's still time, and when there is time, there's hope :}

    So sorry you couldn't find the time to enter. I would've loved to see what you came up with, heh-heh.

    I will not miss the next one!
    And I read all of the others, not as exciting as yours. Everyone just needs to let their hair down a little. "Says the bald man!" LOL! I think I will go and have a beer my friend.

    Drink one for me, would you?

    The contest isn't over yet, there is still time...

    Will do my friend! I just went and voted for my favorite, guess you will have to wait and see which one that would be. God Bless!

    Well, anything worth having is worth waiting for...at least that's what my momma always told me, LOL. :}

LOLOL/ Poe is turning over in his grave. What a delightful parody of The Tell-Tale Heart. Just shows you the loyalty a cat has toward its owner. My Rosie would get into the coffin with me. :-)

    Ha,ha, thanks, Spit, and you're absolutely right, cats are as loyal as can be. So happy you caught the all-too obvious Poesqueness (is Poesqueness even a word, I wonder?) of it, too.

    Thanks again! ;}

This entry looks like one of Poe's incarnation. I guess it's DK. Whatever that means. This is something to be watched.
The introduction and the beginning is that of Edgar Allen Poe's. Congratulations.

    Thank you, Dom, and you're right, it is supposed to be a parody of Poe's "The Tell-Tale heart". Anyone who is familiar with that famous classic will easily see the obvious parallels, LOL.

    Thanks so much fro the great review! :}

Haaaaaha!!! What a tag line. You always run the risk of not living up to the original and falling on your face. You nail this and take away my dream of sneaking in and waltzing away with some quick Fanstory cash!! Some great entries in this one, this is the one to beat. I'm still laughing,,, mikey

    Oh no, I'm not going to waltz away with anything, my fiend, LOL. I wasn't even going to enter this but did in the last hour. When I saw only four had entered, I thought, 'That's crazy, -- I am at least going to make this fun for everybody.'

    So far, so good!

    Good luck...

I am laughing so hard I'm afraid the upstairs neighbors will call the cops. LOL That is one of the funniest punning endings I've ever read :-) Brooke

Fabulously well written short. I detected a bit of Alfred Hitchcock in this thriller that was long on imagination. I commend you on a job well done. Cool picture too! Good luck in the contest.

I guess it just goes to prove you can't keep anything from a cat. Thanks for sharing "The Tell-Tale Bart" with us. I think the conscience was crying out louder than Bart, I am just saying. Well done with a unique twist!
May God Bless you, have a Happy Thanksgiving.

Poor Bart!

It must be his wife, I am thinking the guy does away with and the father is living with them. Bart is smart, and he knows by his good smell that she is close by. Creepy. He half kills the cat or maybe kills him and that is how he may get away with the murder. For now anyway. Maybe I am way off. Best wishes in the contest.

    It's a take off of Poe's "The Tell-Tell Heart", Drew. In the end, the caregiver has murdered the old man of the house, and buries him beneath the flooring. The cops come to investigate the old guys disappearance, and guilt overcomes the care-giver and he screams at them, "Evildoers! There, look no more --he's there -- beneath the flooring. It is the beating of his hideous heart!" Bart is the cat, and he's accidentally buried Bart in the basement grave alive, along with his dead wife. But, the cat wants out, of course, and begins screaming, or "bleating", as the case were.

    Google The Tell-Tale heart, and you'll get it, LOL.

    Thanks for the review.

    I will. It amazes me how a poem can say so much in so few words as I experienced with my poem An Angry Sea. Readers have shared what they have got from it or read into it, and it really blesses me. I will look that up right now. Thanks.
