This is quite creepy in only 96 words! I know the rules say you need to have a resolution, but I think that in the topic of horror/thriller, half of the stories at LEAST won't have a resolution. I did pause for a moment in the beginning because the lack of subject-matter for the description in the first line seemed like poetry and I don't usually read poetry well. But I'm glad I continued. Good job on the prompt!

You say it was just 96 words? FanStory's word counter says 100. I'll have to double check that real quick, and I appreciate you pointing that out to me.

I didn't count the title. Maybe that's the difference.

You're right, I checked to make sure, and the titles don't count towards the word count.

Gee this story of yours gave me the creeps. One of the reasons I hate porcelain dolls is because they seem to stare at you. Great story in only 100 words. Best of luck in the contest.
