Spiritual Echo: a well written bit of philosophy, my writing friend! When Obama sent all those troops oversees, it was to help train and organize as well help fight on the ground. But, these newly trained military fell apart when our troops started coming home. This time, Obama is sending once again, a group to train the Iraqi military along with trainers from a variety of others countries. We will also continue air bombing on ISIS sites. At least, that is the plan for the moment. We will see what happens. As an American, I can tell you that my feelings on 9/11/01 were: shock that an unknown enemy actually attacked us in our country; fear, not knowing if we were under attack and if there were enemy troops all over our country; where do I go and what do I do. Caution continues to stay with me and as I see a picture of one of the replacement buildings for one of the towers come to completion, I wonder if and who will bring it down . . . can't quite let go of that fear. Good writing. livelylinda

Thanks for your review and comments. Yes, I'm aware of what the troops and the allies are planning to do during their mission. It won't be enough. A strong leader, one of their own, needs to emerge to continue the momentum, but lets not forget that once a long time ago the US backed and financed Osama and look what happened. There is no easy answer.

Well written and constructed.
If only your beautifully work would come true.
I have my doubts but will send good vibes and Karma.
I am a Native New Yorker and are hearts are still broken over this horror.
I was I had ten starts for this one!

There is no way you will ever lose the sights, the smells and the screams of autumn. Thanks for reading.

Funny. Once we went to war over a man's ear. (War of 1812) Now our leaders can barely bestir themselves over two men's heads and genocide. Has life really become that cheap? Well, at least the Brits aren't letting their Jihadis back in the country. You'd think we'd consider THAT simple act worth emulating. Oh! I forgot! Britain has secure borders. Silly me. :] Nancy

Actually, England is very easy to access by anyone with a European passport. They fly in without interrogation or inspection and pass through an express line into the country.
Thanks for the stars. I really appreciate it.

Hi SE,
Very well said. I appreciate the fact that while you are not from the States, you and everyone else has been effected by that tragic day. I wish there was a human solution to the world's ills, but unfortunately it is out of Man's abilities to correct the situation. Your spiritual quest is a good one, only the Creator can set things straight, according to the Bible any way. ;). Chrisfiore

You bestow on me the great compliment of awarding me a 6* review. Thanks. No, we have no solutions, but a very few men changed the world to expect evil. Perhaps there's a chance there are a few good men to alter the course of action.

One of your best, Ingrid. Great essay. Love the shark metaphor. It's brilliant.
You're also more tolerant than I am, I must admit. I find it hard not to be prejudicial. Never used to be like that. I just keep reading about the atrocities, and seeing them in their masks on TV, and that connection is staying with me.
Anyway. Excellent piece.

Thank you for the stars. I'm finding it harder to understand how home-grown Canadians and American are signing on to be par of this group and adopt their values. The executioner who beheaded the journalists was British and looked white behind his mask. THAT unnerves me horribly.
-
They don't have any values IMHO. Yes, they reckon they know who that British bastard is and I hope they catch him soon.
I'm with the French - ban the burka in public places.
You're welcome.

Oh my dear friend. I wish I had a million stars. This is extremely well written. On a subject that is so filled with lies and mirrors. If you read my words, my screams, my sobs, you will know my story and I too believe we are forever on the alert, but don't even know what to look out for. And it is not the Muslim faith. This small and crazy group want to kill all, even Muslims that do not adhere to their crazed visions. They worship death. I don't know of any weapon against them, because in reality they have taken weapons left behind by us, and have better aims.

You wrote this so well, I found myself wishing that I hadn't already squandered all of my sixes! You did an exceptional job here.

It is easier to hate and destroy than to respect and build. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words, making for a very good read.

Yes, it is. Easier to keep defences up than expose vulnerability. Thanks.

A lot of heads are nodding with your words, Ingrid. Well done.
Osama was only the visible fin above the water. Below the surface, the shark began to twitch, gnash and sharpen his teeth. [Wow! This is a dynamic sentence.

These anniversaries aren't even necessary to remind us. The 11PM news is validation that nothing's changed.

If we look at this from a historical perspective, then it's cyclical. There is no avoiding the pattern of war and peace. Which, in my opinion, also relates to economic cycles. Since we have dealt with war for more than a decade now, I hope peace is in the near future. It will take a lot of work, but anything is possible. If I were wise, I wouldn't worry about things out of my control.
