This is a beautiful Septolet. I love the thought of sending love away softly. I've been pricked by a few thorns myself. Excellent writing and the photo is gorgeous.

Really love your Septolet poem which adheres to the contest rhyme scheme. Congratulations on your win. The imagery in your poem is very beautiful, and heartfelt, and your accompanying picture is so appropriate. There is strong contrast in the softness of the first stanza, and event though you introduce
prickly thorns, you assure the reader, that they have positive intent. Well done.

A good Septolet. The two parts tie up perfectly as required in this type of poem. You have told your story in the required fourteen words - I particularly like your second part. I see you won the contest and I can see why. Regards Dorothy

Congratulations.

Beautiful words and complimentary photo. Takes a brief moment to realize that thorns are not there to hurt you - but to protect the beauty it surrounds. I doubt any of use will view them as a bother in the future.

Lovely.

This piece meets the criteria of the Septolet poem as this piece has the correct number of lines totaling seven and has 14 words. Good alliteration with send/softly...thorns/there. Good complimentary photo followed by a clear message.

I was trying to think about your words deeply, when thinking about sending love away and thorns to protect. That says to me that the rose is a signature for being alone and left in peace to shine for herself, void of love, which is the opposite of what I would think, yet the thought is as romantic as the rose being a symbol of love, and is the strength and deciding factor within this work.

Good work, and well done for the win in your competition.

Many years ago, I was rejected and humiliated. It effected my life for many years and was all a negative experience. I only offered my love and got the thorns, big time. So this poem is about being gentle when someone offers you there love. It is a gift that shouldn't be punished. That is what the poem means to me. Thank you so much for your powerful insight and kind review!! I really like your feedback!

That is really a worthy winner right there. What a unique perspective. That has a great truth to it and I have never considered it nor have I ever heard it considered that way. Terrific insightful piece. Congratulations. Beautiful piece of work. mikey
