Congratulations on writing this and setting it out so well. It's things like this that give me courage to continue on a journey I started simply because I cannot do anything else, but one which has given me fulfilment.

I enjoyed reading this essay. You made a lot of valid points and gave some great advice. I loved the picture that went with this. Merry Christmas!

You go..and you rock. This is amazing. I'm with you on the Kudos and stars, but damn, I want to meet the marketing genius that figured out all of the addictive components used in Las Vegas to keep old ladies yanking on that crank, and applied to the minorly talented--not all cases--some are really great. I'll be book marking you, and sending dollars to the food bank. Thanks for the reality check.

If someone eats because my words touched another person then I am not a good writer, I am superb. Make it ten bucks, if you could.....please!

"There are some brilliant writers in our community and I am one of them!" Good for you! I have not been a very active member the past nine months. Since renewing my membership, I have been giving birth to my first independently published book. It is very good and I could not be sure of a long enough life to pass it from publisher to publisher whose editors don't recognize that it is good.
I do not recall reading any other examples of your work, but will rectify that in the near future. First, I need to finish and distribute the 2010 edition of my annual Christmas card. I have been doing this for 30-35 years, with a few missed years in that span. I will post the poem within the next week as my greetings to the FS community, but let me personally wish you a great Christmas, a blessed Christmas, and a new year filled with good and rewarding writing.

Hi, Spiritual Echo. So within your definition I am a writer, I am a poet. This is interesting and uplifting. You have a good conclusion/suggestion for writing outside this site, make money and make a contribution to whatever suits us. Thanks for sharing and merry Christmas to you too.

Yes, your work spins stories and spills useless arguments down the sewer. Please don't confuse one format over aanother. I AM NOT a poet, but perhaps I could practice. You don't write prose, but I know that if you chose to do so, you'd blow them away. We all find our form and drummer.

Zounds!! All that to say that? I love it. You are a writer for sure. Let me take the time to simply wish a Merry Christmas to you and yours and don't forget those less fortunate than you!!!

I'll try to do something for the less fortunate, but maybe they should do something for me too. Perhaps their lives are more complete than mine. merry Christmas, sincerily!
-
You know that is entirely possible. LOL. But then they wouldn't be less fortunate would they, poet?

Dave, my sincerity in wishing all a reflective yet kind Christmas is sincere. I think we all need to find some courage to put our efforts out in the mainstream and I'm really surprised that FS does not do a monthly digest and market it beyond this site with an untiatee goal to be published. We are too insulated here. Most folks here are generally super-kind and that works as a confidence builder, but lets all stretch.

Amen!

One can do both, pursue a hobby of writing poetry while helping others in the dim realities of this world. I gave you a six star rating for heart, the one you poured out on these pages. Love

In defense of Spag Grammar Queens, the reviewing process includes appraisal of both form and content. Sometimes the spag is so great as to detract from the content. Other times, the content rocks, but the piece is so 'raw' you know the writer can do better or just forgot to do a self-edit. Myself, I appreciate the eagle-eyes pointing out my mistakes--better here than the editors/judges of other publications/contests I'd like to submit to!
Thank you for the encouragement and well wishes this holiday season...same to you & yours.

Well may blessing rain on your sorrow and may peace find its way to your door/

My grandfather and Mother( when she was only 56) died right at Christmas. I also had two cousins almost killed in a car accident, leaving one of in a coma for six weeks. Christmas carols get to me the worst. Don't really know why I poured all this out, but bless you for this reply. I don't pout around, just sometimes it gets really hardlol. Susan

Susan, don't fight the tears. Until we all learn to take off our literary laundry and be ready to throw every emotion onto a page, the healing won't begin. Try to do that. You don't need to post but writing it out is a part of who you are. So,,,,,,,be....you!

You are beautiful. This experience with you today has brought me to tears. It might develop into a real cry. Thanks for the suggestion and care. LOL...Susan
