You answered my question before I even got a chance to ask it. In Washington State I've only seen the white ones. This is a lovely poem and I enjoyed it very much. As I have said at least 100 times, you never disappoint me.

Thanks, Valerie. Valley Forge National Park has a famous dogwood grove - great mix of pink and white dogwoods - even my lawn growing up had one of each. Brooke :-)

ANOTHER kind of poem. I had no idea there were so many, and have always just written whatever came into my head. I'm beginning to see there's an educated kind of skill involved. Beautiful poem on the month of May. My birthday is in May. I don't like counting the years any more, but am so grateful I have had every one of them.

We have a few pink dogwoods here, too. I never remember the month anything blooms until I see it blooming, but enjoy every bloom thoroughly. Thanks for keeping ahead of the calendar a bit. And as always for your notes that help teach us. Blessings! Marjie

My birthday is in May, too, along with Mother's Day in the U.S. Since Valley Forge National Park always has a dogwood festival in May, the association is strong for me :-) Thanks so much, Marijke. Brooke

Wow, I'm sitting here looking at the white ground and wondering if it will ever look like what you describe in this poem. I hope so. Great job.

Thank you, Joy. I think it is just disgusting that some places still have winter and I send you and Chey and anyone else affected huge hugs. Brooke :-)

Brooke...

Where do I begin. I think I've told you this before; I wish everyday that I had talent that came even close to yours. The way you so elegantly write your poems is beyond my skill. One day I hope to be able to write a piece as well as this.

Take care.

Your friend,
Thomas

If I was the month of may and i had to find some one to describe me in a poem, who else than you should qualify for that. So good use of words...too nice .0)

Brooke, what a joy to read this as I sit here looking out my window at the rain and dark though it's only 5 p.m., and awaitng show showers tonight! I will only think about your beautiful flowering trees and dream. It never fails that we see some snow in April! What a beautiful read and I really enjoyed. . .Sharon

Sharon, thank you! I have had a few friends tell me of snow they had in the past couple days - that ought to be illegal in April :-) Brooke

Brooke, your poem gave me a feeling of refreshment after I read it. I believe the month of May is a heralder of sprintime blossoms and antics.

Thank you, Lola - it has my favorite flowers, my birthday, my daughter's birthday and mother's day, and the best weather my state has to offer - what is not to love about May? :-) Brooke

Hi Brooke,

Excellent verse in praise of the arrival of Spring, though here its still damp and cold! Nice imagery in the humming birds and the blossoms.

Thank you, Patrick, for your kind comments - today it reached a record breaking high of 90, but in two days it will be back down in the 60's, which is normal for this time of year. Brooke :-)

Yep, ours is seesawing as well. As you say - its Spring.
