This brings back memories of being young, having fun, and being somewhat careless/carefree. Seems like ages ago...it WAS ages ago!
Thank you for your poem.

Well, Colorado Owl it was written in the late 70's and just presented. So, we have all been here once. Thank you for your review. I really appreciate that!
Comment from 3rd Sight.
A poem that reads like a story, not bad. It's easy to follow, but the rhyme scheme needs a little work; that's the only thing, that stopped me from giving you five stars.

To me, this sounds more like a song than a poem. It also brings back memories of my teenage weekends more than fifty years ago when we'd go to the Oceanic Hotel at Coogee. I just hope you have more luck with the ladies than I had all those years back then. This poem revived great memories. Conversely, it told of many rejections.

Harry,
You write about a better time than I had on my drinking/disco days. I frequented a local disco; I drank a few drinks and got drunk. (I was a lightweight drinker then). My loyal girlfriends always made sure I got home ok.
Your poem is light, humorous, and romantic--unlike my disco days. There's nothing good about waking up with a splitting headache in the morning, wondering who trashed my bedroom (it was me!)
Thanks for your memories, Harry.
You've written an excellent poem.
Best wishes,
Cindy

I really enjoyed this take of a Saturday night out on the town, enjoying few social drinks and looking forward to getting lucky haha!
A fu, lighthearted, sort of cheeky little poem.
Well done

I can remember when I went to my first disco, man, was it loud, but there was good times when I was young, the bends were in plentiful, as a matter of fact I was a frontman for one of them, this brings back some happy memories of times gone by, beautifully written Harry, blessings Roy

Hi Harry.
This poem sounds like a college party. Is this a one-night stand beginning to happen. I hope the drinks to cause you to do something they will regret later.
Keep writing and stay healthy.
Enjoy the weekend

Lol! Yes, that is very true. But when youth is involved - you are going to live forever. Nothing matters and what if it did attitude. Right?

You're feelin' pretty good
cause you ain't got no pain
You're sittin' there
watching the band
The music is so loud
you can't even think
You ask the waitress
for another drink
she looks at you
with that sexy wink
she's gonna love you tonight
you can see that glow
but you ain't worried
she takes you by the arm
And so on, these probable suggestions for this particular read. Hoping at least one viewpoint might assist overall presentation.

Oh I remember it well and it was such great fun. We partied into the small hours and no-one came to any harm. But then again, it was Denmark and a sense of laissez- faire which still exists to this day. Ulla:)))
