Thank you sweet Helen! You can even brighten a dark evening and make it feel like a sun shiny day! My mom truly was a wise,,but compassionate woman. Especially where the Lord was concerned.. Not to mention Aone of A kind teacher, No matter what was awaiting her at home, she stayed to help
students, even if they just needed someone to talk to from an abusive home, a poor home with no healthy food or caring parents,
I remember one girl had no boots or gloves so my mom gave hers to her and went without the rest of the winter because it was hard enough with seven kids in our family. Yes, I am proud that I had her for a role model. You are so much like her in so many ways! So thank you for all your lovely words!

My mom was always a Christian and always a good woman and remarkable teacher, but not always saintly. Nor am I, but would love to wear that crown someday. That is I hang out with God's crowd now. The cool kids in God's eyes! 😉

Your contest entry was well-presented, Debi. I liked
everything about it. The color scheme, including the
background, worked well. I liked how each quote used
two colors to differentiate the quote from your interpretation.
The selected quotes were all great. You expressed your
thoughts and feelings well for each one. The use of end
rhymes was an added bonus. You did a great job showing
how the quote applied to you. I loved what your mother said
and how you carry on her tradition and beliefs.

You did a very nice and thoughtful job on this poem with intermittent documentary or is a documentary with intermittent poetry. I read it twice, once with the red lettered viewpoint and once without. It is interesting how they read differently.

Actually the red letter parts were the actual quotes from the famous author of them and the black letters were my three interpretations of each, that were instructed for the prompt. But I can see how that can be a little misleading. .
