It is so sad when someone so young dies. I couldn't understand a father or any parent not crying at such a time. Wonderful artwork
Sorry for your losses.
I think you have to erase new as a second adjective for moon. A full moon and a new moon are opposites. A new moon means the night is moonless.
Good luck in the contest.
Keep writing and stay healthy
Happy Holidays.

This is an absolutely beautiful poem. It has excellent rhyme and rhythm and wonderful imagery. It tells a poignant story, too. The poem combined with the picture is heart melting.

What a lovely, sad, beautiful poem about a beautiful little girl. I'm sure her death is a haunting memory for everyone who knew her. But you give us hope that we'll be together again with loved ones after we part with the living. A beautiful picture as well.

An intriguing poem. There is warmth, dreaminess, and perhaps a bit of a surreal feeling about it. The poem flows well. The short lines add to the quick movement. The picture makes for a good presentation. The images are clear. The author's notes complete the picture. However, even open-ended it works well.

Thanks for a good read.

Thank you for reading, your great comments, and all the stars! I opted for the 6-7 syllable count for a better flow.

Stunningly touching, Irish. How sad to know about the loss of a child. The end of a life that has not yet begun. This is beautiful, my friend. I'm honored to have read it! Best, JohnC

It's very hard losing a child. I lost a son when he was only 37 days old. He was born with a heart condition and died during heart surgery. That was about 40 years ago. I learned to live with it, but it still hurts. I understand. Thank you for sharing.

This is so sad, I'm glad I stayed alive for my girls, they need a dad in their formative, a dad's job is to protect their family, and build a hedge of love, protecting not only physically but emotionally, protecting their precious innocence until they mature, love has a loosening grip. Beautifully written my friend, blessings Roy
