Ha! I love the original and hearing it again was a blast from the past. You've cleverly updated it to match, satirically, with all of the societal hubbub now attached to what was ONCE a traditional holiday.

It saw one little typo:

"Snide smirk, big jerk, all your good for is a clerk"
("your" should be "you're)

I loved:

"You gotta problem with the sleigh I'm driving
Let me take a good look at your car
My sleigh should tell a lot about me
Your old beater tells just who you are"

I'd prefer a vehicle that runs on "Reinder power. Gas is much too pricey!

Thanks so much Karenina. Thanks for telling about my typo, but I got that changed and since I didn't have apostrophes at the end on the in sounds instead of ing, I changed them into ing words. But Billy Joel is too cool for that, and I should know, I have hit every concert of his within a 200 mile radius. Or at least I used to. Thank you for your kind words for this, since I just decided this morning to stay in the contest, I am actually lucky that I barely made the deadline. Thanks again my dear friend!!!!!

Woodstock? You little wild child! You should pick up your wild friend Louise that I heard about and do some of that fun stuff again. Once my best friend and I drove all the way to Aims, Iowa to see Elton John and Billy Joel together in an outside concert and we were feeling really good and we thought it was just from all the excitement of the show, but then realized it was from what everyone around us were doing. Lol

Chicago, The Beach Boys, Earth Wind and Fire, David Bowie, Boz Scags,
James Taylor, Carole King, Arlo Guthrie, Dolly Parton, Shania Twain, Alan Jackson....

In Vegas I saw Liberace, Wayne Newton, Cher!

On Broadway I saw Shirley McClain's one woman show...

But NEVER Billy Joel or Elton John!

Louise had a lot more fun than Thelma!

I saw Van Morrison this summer!

That was fun!
