A very nice story. Heartfelt and honest. Can't really provide a review other than one of excellence when the motives are so selfless. Good for you.

What a great contest entry, Terry. I loved reading it. You
told it simply and to the point. Your two answers were perfect.
It was a gift both times. To have refused would've taken the joy
away from the giver. When one gives a gift, s/he shouldn't
expect one in return. The joy is in the giving.
Thanks for sharing and best wishes in the contest, Jan

Oh my gosh. I love it! I love the dual viewpoints. One proud but not too proud to accept help. The other giving yet want to feel as if his father would be proud of him. This was an awesome story. Right up there with the feels of The Gift of the Magi. This put me into the giving spirit of the season. Gretchen

Gretchen, your insights have not failed you. My real interest in telling this story was to do it from two points of view. Thank you for the six stars! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Terry.

This was very nice what you have written for and about the Christmas bonus. I don't think that was selfish of you at all. We always want our mother/father to be proud of us for something we have done in our life. I enjoyed reading and reviewing this. Blessings, Teri
