Thank you for sharing this contest entry. Wow! everything I read His story; I get goosebumps. You told it very eloquently. I enjoyed reading, I doubt you need my good luck wishes, but I will give them anyway. In my opinion you've nailed this contest.
But high priests of the city viewed His claim
As heresy and labeled Him a fraud. (I'm curious and this is probably my own thought. I wonder if they weren't more afraid of what Jesus taught than Him being a fraud.)

Thanks, Barb. I think those two things go together.

A fine poem for Easter Paul and I enjoyed your fine rhymes and story in your own words. A good entry for the faith contest too.
This line is out of metre and will need some adjustment:
As HEREsy AND LABeled Him a fraud.
My favourite stanza is this one:
And as life from His mortal body slips,
The gathered multitude then taunts the Jew.
But then these words, to God, fall from His lips,
"Forgive them for they know not what they do."
Overall I thought this was an exceptional write.
I wish you luck with the contest and hope you have a happy Easter with lots of chocolate Easter eggs. We have a flat pack furniture company in the UK from Scandinavia called IKEA, they produced a chocolate bar and called it a flat packed Easter Egg! I thought that would make you smile.
Love Dolly x

Thanks, Christine. Heresy has three syllables, so I think I'm okay. Six stars from you is much appreciated. It means a lot.
-
Do you say (here) with two syllables? I doubt it.
-
Maybe that's the way they pronounce it in the UK. Check the dictionary.
-
I misread it Paul! I do apologise, I thought you meant hearsay! But you mean heresy! I think I need new glasses! Sorry about that, but at least you still got the six stars, love Dolly x
-
No apology necessary.

This is the bible in fifteen stanzas. I haven't had the pleasure of reading
anything like this in a long time. Your poem also displays your knowledge of the bible. Very well done, a Joy to read. Willie

That was beautifully written, and worthy of a six, I'm sorry I don't have. Every time I hear this story it makes me go goosepimply, it is the best story ever to have been told. Your rhyme and rhythm is superb, and it was such a joy to read. Well done and good luck in the contest. :)) Sandra xx

Thanks, Sally. Every once in awhile I need to write something like this, after all the other junk that I write.
