Being the only one in a large building is indeed creepy. I felt as if I was an outsider looking in on the situation. Maybe a security guard watching his little camera and not doing a thing to help. I didn't feel any uncertainty or fear which I think is what was trying to be portrayed.

Thanks, Mia, for your good review. I wasn't trying to emphasize fear, so much as being in a situation in which I had to find a way out -- which I did. I mentioned that I was afraid to walk down the fire stairs alone. This was not the first time I had been left at a business alone, but it was the first time I had been left alone on my first day or night, AND had been trapped! I found my solution by calling 911. Apparently EMS had resourcefully contacted the security guard, who came up to get me in the elevator, which was a successful and safe outcome.
I made it out of the building safely, which was the most important thing for me. May God bless you, my friend.

I would have done exactly what you did, Mary, and not felt the slightest twinge of guilt. You're right, you shouldn't have just been left on your own like that on your first day/night. I'm so glad that you called 911 and got out of there. Haha in a fire truck! I haven' t worked in a big building like that before. It must be scary at 3am in the middle of Manhattan.

Thank you so much for the great review, Lisa, and especially for the six stars. Yes, a big building can be scary at night, even when you're not alone -- I even worked in the World Trade Center, and those buildings made some weird, creepy noises, especially in the air shafts.
No, I didn't leave in the fire truck -- I left in the car service I'd called, that was still outside waiting, but as it took me home, the FDNY was on its way to the scene, God bless them! And God bless you, too. Love, Mary Kay xoxo
