Just noticed you reside in Portland, that happy city where chaos reigns because the yellow-haired, small handed man who ran this country beautifully got cheated out of his Presidency, and this country is now going to hell in a handbasket.
You prefer the guy who doesn't even know where he is or what he's doing?
I'm sorry, but I am sick to death of Trump bashing. For heaven's sake!
Have a happy day.

This narrative poem is superb in every respect--creative, skillfully composed, and--most importantly--strong in its message about how differences in groups become the basis for horrendous occurrences
and ruin.

I enjoyed this well-written poem. A political satire as I see it. I noticed the symbolism. The overall poem has a nice rhyme. Being living in India, I found the political tone a bit difficult to follow. Thanks for sharing!

Great poem! I really like your symbolism of the fruit being judged by their skins. The overall poem has nice rhyme, rhythm, and moral. Great work! I think it is powerful to see here that Don was only able to see the benefits of apples when it personally helped him, which is an unfortunate truth for many people ... erm.. fruits.

I expect this is political and I never believed Trump was racist and if anything socialists have a history of being prejudiced against minority groups and Russia is riddled with this kind of attitude. Your poem is light hearted and funny but the message it conveys is totally untrue, love Dolly x

Thank you Dolly. This was a fictional story not based on real events. 😀

You have a real fruit salad here, well mixed with political satire, to provide an entertaining tale. It's interesting to note that oranges are often associated in our minds with lemons.

You certainly have a vivid imagination. I would have liked it broken up into quatrains (4 lines then a break) A most interesting take on fruit. If you break it up the reader will take the time to pause until next quatrain. K XX

This is one of the cleverest poems I've read for a while. It has a Seuss-ian flavor to it, and there ain't nothin' wrong with that.
The doctor knew of an apple that went to his school.
He said, "He's smarter than me-- much nicer than you." [playing smarter off nicer was brilliant1]
The apples said "Thanks, but no thanks very much." ["Thanks but no thanks" would just have been blah, but to add "very much" brought a big smile to my face.
This was a fine, entertaining read!

And it jolly well serves him right! There is quite obviously a moral to this I can see, one shouldn't try to con others in to making them thinking that one is a goody, goody two shoes, when all the time one is merely plotting to create his own empire to oppress the people...er...fruit. Beautifully written my Friend, your a genius, and obviously au fait with the strengths and failings of fruit. Well done, blessings Roy
