Dear Pam, I read this with tears in my eyes. Your words are so heartfelt, so sincere. Her travel cards, :) I think most of us who knew her will remember her fondly because of those. She went to places I can only dream of. Her poetry was beautiful as was her prose. So many times we are writing our tributes to those we loved and admired, it's heartbreaking when we discover another is lost to us. We will all meet again, I'm sure of it. Your 'almost' meeting will one day, in the distant future, become reality. This poem will be a comfort for her family. Beautiful, my friend. Sandra xxx

I let a day go by, and the words just flowed down the page so I appreciate you mentioning it. I am glad you enjoyed the poem and the notes.

You presented this in many ways with each stanza showed the respect
Everyone felt for Joan

She sounds like a most wonderful, gracious, thoughtful and creative person. Your tribute is beautiful. It is thoughtfully written, and creative. I love the expression "Hope is the thing with feathers, which perches in your soul", and your whole poem is very moving, as are your author's notes.
