Hello Diana. This is a very well written free verse reflecting on Life and times past. Are are some revealing sections and some fond memories I give the poem depth.

A beautiful free verse Diana as you travel memory lane from the now right back through the decades to your childhood. I particularly liked the verse about being on your grandpa's knee. Cheers Valda

So sorry to read of your fatherless childhood, but fortunate to have grandfather's lap. I was so lucky to have a good father who cared for me. Our childhood's seem to be with us for the rest of our lives. Some good memories and some not so good. Nicely written, Diana!

thanks so much for reading! my father was a bit of a vagabond and wasn't around when i was young. So I am grateful for grandparents who stepped up to the plate when he did not. We were closer in later years, but he took his life at 49, so i still ended up missing him all over again. Appreciate you took this journey with me and can know me a little better! xoxoxo

Life has its cruel times. Better to think on the good times I guess. To better days! 🍸

Thank you for taking us along on your poetic walk through your Memory Lane. Those memories make you more uniquely you than your fingerprints. And we can always see how God carried us through some of those hard times.

This was really well written. I think free verse poems sound good with shorter lines, and you got that. This flows well together, and it's really good of you to share it with us. Keep up the good writing.

An umbrella on a rainy day - a beautiful way to illustrate the comfort felt when we stroll down memory lane. Thank you for inviting us along. This was a great example of free verse - something I haven't mastered myself!
