Marvellous rhythm expressing magnificent day out with your horse. You have certainly portrayed the scenery and sound of the day. You have 'taken me out for the day' with your beautiful poem - well done!

It may not have been a cascade poem, but it was a great story! Thunderstorms can be very dangerous. And as you clearly brought out with your experience, highly dangerous in horseback. Glad you and your horse were safe. Thanks for sharing.

While I don't ride horses myself, I really liked the ideas presented in your poem. It gave the reader a sense of being with you and the horse. Great job with this one, glad you made it back in time.

I admired your rhymed couplets and repeats for emphasis in these quatrains--cascade form or not. Thank you for your notes that confirm this is a true story. Here's to many more horseback rides without the fear of rain! Smiles- Joan

Hi, Debi

I love the pitch-perfect meter and rhyme of this delightful poem. I could feel the change from sheer enjoyment to near panic as you and your horse raced to safety. Just wonderful!

Oh, I love this. I am fearful of horses and when we has one I was afraid to ride him. Then one day, he bucked my daughter off and away he went like a bucking bronco.
I liked the rhyme and rhythm and the story to boot. Nice work.

I loved this poem Debi, the only time I rode a poem was when I was only 17, and even then, not comfortably. The fellow in front of fell off his horse and was dragged by the stirrups for several meters before the horse stopped. Well done, a beautifully composed a and written the repeated, "my horse and I" excellently and wonderfully rhymed in articulate wording, well done, blessings, Roy

    Hi Roy,
Thank you for the wonderful review. I am sorry that your horse-riding experience wasn't the best. I love my horse and don't know what I'd do without it. I don't know if I can ever get over my horse fever.
I am happy you enjoyed the poem and I appreciate the great analysis and encouragement.
