This is a fine entry for the contest, Yvette. Forgiveness is always a good thing. Everyone wants that, and hopefully is willing to give and get. Marilyn

You are so right, Marilyn -- think the world could use a whole lot more of it rather than the 'live in vengeance' mode of social media... sigh. Have a Terrific Tuesday out there!! ;) ;) Yvette

Hello dear Yvette!
That they do; that they do!
And, oh! The heights one can fly!
Yes, friend, we are on the same wavelength; I think that is marvelous!
Now...can I let you in on a tiny secret?
I thought so:
Here it goes:
I am the first to forgive, but... I a tiny little minuscule part of me remembers... :) (Blame the nuns...) :)

Best Wishes!

Yvette,

OoooOOOooo... Yes. I like this. Very powerful and encouraging. The syllable count is just right and I can't imagine a post to beat this one. You do these so well. Good luck!

Forgiveness is a two-way street. It benefits both the one who need forgiving and the one who forgives. Well said.

Awesome picture. The white reminds me of a dove's wings.

This is a respectable contest entry, keeping to the syllable requirement. The image that complements it is quite striking and the words are inspirational. Good luck in the voting.

You are so correct about forgiveness giving us freedom. It lifts a weight and lets us move forward, or as you say, it allows us to fly. It does lighten the load and make us feel better.
Best of luck in the contest.

Thanx so much, W.J., for your review here... forgiveness is one of those two-edged swords that cuts the bonds of both parties, yeah? Think the world could use a whole lot more of it rather than the 'live in vengeance' mode of social media... sigh. Have a Terrific Tuesday!! ;) ;) Yvette

The line above the title says to "accept it, my child, and spread your wings...". Then you talk about "The arms of forgiveness," does this mean we should accept forgiveness, or offer forgiveness? Or is it both? Then the title addresses "Eternity's Embrace." Does that mean forgiveness lasts an eternity? And, who's embrace are we to accept?
It appears to mean a lot of different things, and yet, the theme seems to be about being able to spread our wings and fly. I guess I'm asking for clarification of the cohesion of what you are saying.
I love the artwork and presentation as a whole.
Take care, Jesse

Just talking about forgiveness for everyone involved, Jesse -- wasn't trying to go too deep or anything, my friend! ;) :) Thanx as always for y our detailed brain really trying to delve into it, but, honestly, it was just my way of saying that forgiveness is one of those two-edged swords that cuts the bonds of both parties... ;) Take care out there and have a Wonderful Wednesday! :)

    Hi Yvette.
Thanks for the clarification. I think the way you explained it just now, is the best way of saying it in your post.
I know I search for deeper meanings, but hey, that's just my way. A good head-scratcher, that poem of yours. Enjoy your Wednesday, as well.
    Take care, Jesse

In my opinion, a striking revelation that requires more consideration and employment throughout the world today, paying it forward at the individual level, but also in the relationship among governments - well told in its succinct free verse message of humanity made simple and fully compliant with the prompt, of course. Best wishes in the contest with this idealized write...

You are so right, Eve... forgiveness is one of those two-edged swords that cuts the bonds of both parties, yeah? I agree that the world could use a whole lot more of it rather than the 'live in vengeance' mode of social media and politics... sigh. Have a Terrific Tuesday!! ;) ;) Yvette

I agree completely and with hope, Yvette - as an eternal optimist, my hope sustains me in this world of turmoil and "live in vengeance" mentality. Have a terrific Tuesday as well, and I hope it flows throughout the rest of the week for you...Eve

Yes, I know we think of forgiveness is more for the forgivor, but I think it's also for the the forgivee also. So I really like the idea of yours that one is released to "fly", well done Dear girl, blessings, Roy

Wonderful words! Yes, forgiveness gives us the freedom from the weight of guilt to the one needing forgiveness and the weight of bitterness for those harboring hurt. Best wishes in the contest!
