This is wonderful - you really capture that heady feeling of falling in love. You set the scene nicely in the story, with a casual visit to a tire dealership leading to the love match, still remembered vividly today. What a gorgeous green, definitely eye candy. That full race Hemi engine probably got you in trouble with the cops a few times!

A good piece of hot machinery does that to people. I fell in love with motorcycling when I first sat on an amazing looking machine.

Sounds like you found the car of your dreams. What young man wouldn't love it? In your last line 50 should be fifty. Good luck in the contest.

I understand that cars back then were made better and meant more to owners. I can feel the longing for 'her' in your well-chosen story. Your words flow smoothly, Mystery Author, and the story told is great--a man and his machine. The picture is super. Thanks for sharing and best wishes. Jan

I remember them oh, so well. Of course years ago they were reasonably common, and were always associated with "burning rubber". But "big" boys today, aren't much different too the little boys of yesteryear. (My two year old grandson is like that) beautifully written entry, good luck, blessings, Roy

Wow, that would be a hard car to turn down. I remember my brother coming home with a Dodge Charger bought while he was in the Navy. He had to sell it a few months later because he couldn't afford the payments. Very sad. This is a fun tale of a man and his car. Men sure love their cars. You should have seen my first car. So very sad, so very sad. Hope you do well in the contest. Rox
