There's nothing more final than the closing of the closing curtain on a person's life, and only tributes should be paid, one always leave a mark, and the best mark and memorial one can leave, are the crop of good fruit grown from seeds that were sown into others lives, and Mike had planted good crops. Sadly, I hardly knew him, our two paths rarely passed, but he did ask if he could use a memorial poem I'd written once, ironically because he said there were some elderly members of his church, he was certain were ready to fall off the twig, I said he was welcome to it. But I know he'll never know anymore life's angst, his trophies are in the grateful friends he leaves behind, God give you rest friend, blessings, and well said Gloria, blessings, Roy

Oh, Gloria, I laughed and cried at this. Such brilliant and funny memories of Michael. He's the guy I'd love to have met in person, if only to say, 'bloody reply to my reviews once in a while,' lol. But he was a busy man, with many reviews to read. Somebody, on reviewing my 'footprints' piece, said FS will be poorer without him. And it will, but it was, and still is, richer for his presence. And what we can do, though we might not be able to fill the hole he left, is treat others as he treated us. Be that person who offers an encouraging word, etc. Which, I may say, I think you already do. Without the film quotes.

Although I couldn't claim to know Michael Cahill well enough, in the two years that I've been in FanStory, I do remember occasionally reading some of his scripts and poems.
It is a wonderful gesture for you to write him this tribute which I'm sure is befitting. I personally may not have read everything he posted, but whatever I read of his, showed a talent apart.

So glad te SIXES have returned in time to say, Vale Michael Cahill. I loved your tribute to him through this and it brought back many memories of my times with him and his unbounded encouragement. I look forward to seeing him in Glory sometime soon as I believe we don't have too much time to wait for that reunion.

When I joined the site, in my first full year, Michael encouraged me every step of the way to taking a trophy. It was NEVER about him, always about other folks, enriching the experience, and trying to make here a better place.
His was also the first 'big' scalp I took in a competition. I was so proud. lol
it seems silly to say that someone you never met will lave a large hole, but I do believe that he was one of the special folk who transcend barriers whether its prejudice, stupidity or the ethereal boundaries of cyber-space.
Missed indeed.

LOL, I did not know this Gman and it thrills me to pieces to hear that you had a similar experience. The only difference is I never did get a chance to "beat" him in a member contest. I guess that opportunity has passed now, but congratulations to you. This is a fine review that just pleases me so much, THANK YOU. :))
