he thought of being trapped with him drivelling on - I've always loved the word drivelling. lol
Sir David's dialogue is full of traditional sayings/clichés which is perfectly in character and rings true.
time of the year, ... David?" - technically you could do away with the comma here.
f the letter written to his grandmother, Mademoiselle Suzanne Gaudin, back in 1903..- either one dot or three here depending on final punctuation or ellipsis.
