Wow. You've set the scene and episode in time travel very well. I can only imagine that Veronica and Mildred are there to save this poor woman from her tyrannical husband.

It was like this in those times. Doing some research into the suffragettes, they had to put up a lot from their husbands, and men in general. I just don't get why they seem to think they are better than women! Many still do. I'm glad you enjoyed this part, it tells it as it was. Thanks my friend. :)) Sandra xxx

Hi, Sandra. Well written chapter here, as usual. This is a new story and part of your title "This Time, That time" Right? Good idea. I trust it will follow the success of the others.

Excellent imagery in this one:

" He struck her with such force, her head smashed into the marble fireplace with a sickening thud, and Mildred and I watched, our jaws dropped open, as she slumped to the ground, blood pouring from the gash in the side of her head."

Suggestions if you don't mind: "turning his head in Mildred's and my direction with a similar icy stare. (perhaps "turning his head in our direction" would sound better.)

A reminder to be more stingy with the adverbs (words ending in "ly" such as "contemptuously"

'All 'gentlemen' of high regard....' - think if you're using the italics you probably don't need the marks as well.

The vice Admiral sounds like a real hero, beating and hurting his wife was cowardly enough, but trying to strike his son is contemptible and equally bad. Good old Mildred, somebody from the modern era knows enough to not fear bullies such as him.
