I find this a little odd. Several years ago I had written a long verse about the journey of youth and described it as a journey upon the ocean. I combined it with one other work entitled "Heaven's Coast." I was about to place it in my works here on FS. Now I am reluctant to do so because of the similarities.

Hey Roy. Please do not be reluctant to post your creative gift for any reason. The similarity of two poetics is a positive enhancement of the art itself. Both Ezra Pound and T.S. Eliot referenced their gratitude to poets and poems they admit expanded their own creative juices and broadened the landscapes opened by another poet's interruptive skills. We all stand or should stand on the shoulders of those who so dramatically contributed their individual talents to the art form and we as serious believers in the magic angel-dust found in poetics have benefited from those who shared the same magic. I hope you post your 'similar' poem because I know I will benefit from the read. Thanks again Roy. tom

Old sailors never die. They just dream on. I confess I never had the yen to sail; nevertheless, it is easy for me to relate to this old sailor's love of the sea. I especially like stanza 4. Your cadence emulates the smooth rocking of the boat. Very nice. Rod

Ah, the fleetingness of youth, I wrote one the other day, youth, foolish, when the riches of the flesh were available and free. Beautifully written, a language rich poem, which supplants the skilful weaving of the smoothly metered work, crafted well and crafted so well, well done, blessings, Roy

This is a nice poem, clear and interesting adventure memoir of a sea man, in fantastic rhymes, free flow of thoughts and sound imagery; well said, well done. Keep writing. DR ALCREATOR
