Luna,
Triolets are so hard. Those repeating refrains are almost impossible to place gently enough in the poem that they don't sound like resounding gongs when read again. You've done a good job, but it still needs work. Or perhaps (we both!) still need practice on crating triolets? Thanks!

Well, girl, I don't know what the answer is. Why don't I try and make the repeat less resounding, or maybe your second statement is true! *smile*
-
No. I'm sorry. I'm being rude. I apologize. That's all
-
No need for apologies, I didn't think that you were being rude at all. Plelase don't worry about that, my friend.
-
Still, I was trying to be honest, and if I can't say words that are helpful as well, I should keep my thoughts to myself. Lesson learned.
-
We'll just put it to rest, my friend. *smile*

A beautiful work, it give love ones the freedom of tears and in doing so it delivers a message that allows a smile of hope to come through that fear and doubt, he will come home, thanks for sharing

As a former member of the armed forces, I can surely relate to this. I had to say goodbye to my wife several times and once when my daughter was just 3 days old. I missed the first year of her life.
Very powerful statement in this poem.

A very well-written Triolet. We forget how to show emotions in this artificial world we living in today. It is safe to cry when you feel heart broken, the ones who don't like to see it will look the other way.

For anyone who has ever been in the military serving their country, they know all too well the sadness felt when they are called away to do their duty.
For any spouse, child, mother, father, son, daughter or lover, they too know the pain and fear of loneliness after their beloved leaves to honor his or her duty.
For those brave young servicemen and women who never return standing upright but in metal coffins, all of our hearts ache at such a loss.
Nicely done, Jeni, as usual.

My dear friend,
Thank you for your warm and accurate review. Especially for those brave young men who never return standing upright, or return with no arms or legs. I'm not sure which would be worse, 'dean.

My pleasure as always, Luna.
Take care.
