I wrote a triolet for a challenge once, but I don't recall the particulars. There was a refrain, and so on. This looks right to memory, and the poor troll out there in hard vacuum grumping wins a five.

Dear LlJ Red,
My friend, I'm gonna begin putting the mechanics of the poems in my author's notes so that the reader can determine for himself how well I've complied with the form.
Thanks for your gracious review.
I appreciate your attention to my work...Thanks to the moon and back!

That is a lovely poem. I have to confess that I don't fully understand it (my fault), but I think it is beautiful. It is smooth, like the shape of the moon. Perhaps you are referring the Jungian shadow side of us, that could be the "moon"'s shadow,
A very good illustration as well.
Good job.

Dear nancyabbrose,
It isn't your fault that you don't understand this; many people have written the same comment.
My reply is that there is not much to understand. I wrote this nonsense poem just for fun.
Truthfully, I wasn't sure how it would fare on the site!
I appreciate your attention to my work...Thanks to the moon and back!

Hi Luna,
from a sad and traumatic loss, to which my heart goes out to you and your family--to the inspiration that keeps 'Mickey's' love and memory alive through imaginative verse that demands one to reflect on its birth.
I loved it... a beautiful presentation and a truly wonderful triolet... be well my friend!
With our thoughts we create,
indelible memories.
James vx's.

Dear Jumbo J,
Thanks so much for your condolences and your realization that my boy's love and memory is alive due in part to the inspiration I grab from his love as my Angel.
With our thoughts we create,
indelible memories.
I love this sentence as well. Do you mind if I use the phrase "indelible memories" in a future poem?
I appreciate your attention to my work...Thanks to the moon and back!

Dear Luna... words or phrases are and always will be a gift... it is very thoughtful that you ask, that in itself speaks volumes of your character... please feel free to use what was the only thing that I could refer to your relationship with your 'Mickey'-forever... vx's.

I enjoyed the melody of this poem. This format is quite new to me but you followed the structure perfectly. The alliteration of m's and the rhymes with "oo" and "o" sounds gives it a kind of mournful sound. I wonder what this grumpy troll will do.

A delightful, lighthearted triolet Jeni. Great repeating lines, excellent rhyme and good use of alliteration. I love Cleo85's artwork. I use it often.
Well done.
Blessings

Dear Janet,
I'm glad that you liked what you read here! Thanks for giving me some of the particulars...Cleo85's work is awesome, isn't it?
I frequently search for her by name so I can make a choice from only her artwork. She's magnificent.

I love fairy tales, especially if they are in verse and funny. All children do, even those of grandmothers age like me.
I am delighted to provide the illustration for this poem.
This troll jumped right into my head. I know exactly how he looks. I see the musicians as well and the moon faraway. I could paint the scene, maybe I do it, if you don't mind.

Hi. Read your profile. Sorry to hear of your loss. Prayers for you and your family continue. Who is that grumpy troll on earth preventing the musicians from playing a soulful tune?

Nicely done triolet. It describes a troll that lives on Earth but it seems music might have tamed the beast a little bit if he plays a different roll now.

What a fun poem. Full of life and I can picture that little guy and he scares me. I also like the image of Mama Moon and the picture you chose to go with it. Very enjoyable.

Dear jusylee72,
Thanks for letting me know that you liked the poem. I'm glad that my words brought a picture to your mind, but don't worry, he's basically harmless. He just likes practical jokes. I think he will recur in a future poem.
I appreciate your attention to my work...Thanks to the moon and back!
