This series of poems has been quite outstanding both in terms of storytelling and metrical enchantment. I should love to keep a copy for reading to young Teagan when she gets a bit older. It's well up there in the ranks of potential children's literature for publication. Something to appeal to all ages.

Tony, thanks a lot for the kind words. Feel free to copy any of the Gobbledegooks poems for later use.
My intention all along has been to find a publisher for these, but tentative enquiries so far have been dead ends. Maybe now I feel the set is complete, I'll push a bit harder. . I may also have a little more time on my hands next year when I pass the magical 65 mark.

This is a lovely fairy tale :) You have good story poem form and your contest entry is outstanding. I predict a good showing in the contest for this one.
I'm studying fairy tales for a magazine submission. The gal running the magazine is pretty serious about fairy tales. I'll study and attempt to write something in the new year. I'm not as good a poet or story teller as you. I'm not afraid to admit my weaknesses.
Best wishes in the contest. You'll be a top contender!

Thanks, Joy.
I can't say that I'm really into fairy-tales. This series developed almost by accident from a beginning that was really just a piece of fun playing around with the sounds of words.
From what I've seen of your writing, I'd say you are more than capable of coming up with a pretty decent tale to get into print.

That's very kind of you to say that. I appreciate it :)

Such a creative and entertaining story poem! I enjoy the fun sounds in the poem, the many alliterations. Is this a chapter in an entire book in verse? It has all the elements of a wedding and a fairy tale with all the colorful characters.

Hi. Welcome to FanStory and thanks for stopping by to review my Gobbledegooks poem.
Yes, this is a whole series of narrative poems set in the magical Kingdom of the Gobbledegooks. Each poem tells it's own story, but most of them include Rupert and Hilda, beginning when they were wee children.
To find the other poems you should be able to just backtrack through the chapters from this post.

Utterly fantastic. That read professionally. I could have bounced happily through a hundred more beautifully crafted verses.
Sorry for all the adverbs. But it was great. Seriously, great.

Sounds like a fun collection of poems. Your use of rhyme and alliteration is superb. I could use that monkey, and maybe the dragon to fry me a steak. Best wishes in the contest, my friend~Debbie

This one was fun, and the best one I've read today. I just know they'll all live happily ever after, even the dragon. It seems I have some catching up to do. Good luck in the contest.

Yes, they could live happily ever after, if Life doesn't get in their way. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words, making for a very interesting read.

Thanks, Charlie. You mean life like dragons and wizards and fanatical poets?
