This is my second year on Fan Story and although I don't write tons of stories and poems( I work full time), I do enough reading the amazing work on this site. I'm sure you fill that way to, so it's a shame when one of our own says goodbye.
I don't believe a writer's thoughts dry up. Maybe it's dried up for Fan story and now it's time to do something different like being on the New York Times best seller's list.

Even though we haven't been in touch as writers. I am sorry to hear you are going? I have been a member since 2006. Ten years. In the beginning I was very active. the past few years, I barely came by but had renewed anyway. FS became family. I made a lot of friends here. Anyway, recently I renewed again and since my personal life is yet again going in a different direction, I decided I wanted to fit in writing again. Yes, I gave up, but not on the site, just on temporarily writing. I have attended Inspired Mics here locally and, even though I didn't write anything new, I read from previous works here on FS. So, when the decision came to renew again. I signed up for another 2 years. Since then I've published 4 poems which is not my genre, and started re-submitting a novel I started but hadn't finished. I hope the inspiration will let me complete the novel.
You shouldn't give up, unless you need to financially. That is understandable. I've learned a great deal here over the years.
I took courses but learned more here from the members.
Anyway, I hate to see a member of 6 years leave us. But good luck in all your endeavors.

Well, I must admit, I've felt the same way many times, and just might follow your lead sometime in the near future. It's must too damn time consuming to write as many substantive reviews to boost anything to a readable level. Then you knock yourself out on a detailed review and get a pro forma "Thanks" in return. The reviews around here are a joke because no one wants to upset anyone else. That is not the purpose of a true review. We need more people telling the truth every once in a while.....hey, your writing sucks! Good luck.....and farewell.

I have just joined and see a certain slant to this site.
Not saying it's wrong or right but it allows us to write.
That said we don't need a pat on the back, but it does feel good
Don't stop writing, it's an outlet, we all need one.
Thats the problem with writing it's so personal, but we want to share so we get that approval.
I will post a poem I wrote years ago that reminds me of this tonight, I hope you enjoy it.
But please give me one star if you like it. If it is poor then give me 5 stars. Or anything any between. Trust me I will not be offended just happy I got to share something.
