I love how the author's notes serve as an epilog and companion piece to the tiny tale. By the way, I think I may have accidentally hit "Save" on an earlier reply to one of your reviews before completing my thought. What I wanted to say, upon hearing that you also had once studied for the ministry, was that that fact explains your humility. Had I your talent, I would be an insufferable egotist.
Anyway, another gripping tale.

This is yet another chilling tale that the author has created with this piece of writing. Poor dad and poor daughter. This is a terrible situation and I hope I never have to do anything like that.

Zombies, zombies, zombies . All you care about are zombies :) I have one bullet left, Dean, ..one.. Bwa-ha-a-a-a-a-
Good daddy to take care of his little girl. Can't someone invent a "Zombie Zap Spray" like roach spray?

Yeah, you'd think if they can send a rover (or three) to the planet Mars, they should be able to come up with a zombie repellant, right, Linda? But n-o-o-o-o-o, they make us shoot 'em in the head to stop the munching marauders instead. That gets kind of messy, ya' know?
Thanks very much for reading and commenting. I do appreciate it... ;)

Good god!!! Those sirens scared the chit out of me!!!LMAO.
What an excellent addition to Tiny Tales this is, Dean. Question, when you publish a book online, can you add these little beauties to it...Sound and Gif's?
Wonderful!!
Always your biggest fan,
Missy

Yes, you simply convert the story to an audiobook format. There are a couple of sites where I have published stories which include sound FX, but I'm not permitted to mention them here on FS as per site regulations. But to answer your question, yes, it's completely feasible.
Thanks for weighing in on yet another installment of these tiny terror tales, Missy. Your continued support of this series is deeply appreciated.

Very well written with very descriptive images and a horrific ending. I like a of of your metaphors, i.e. "ebony velvet curtain closing on the final performance of an ill-conceived play". Well done.

Hi Dean,
Very nicely done. Very tight writing, driving through good tension and emotion. A true hero in the father. A fitting entry for the tiny tales.

And when all that are left are the zombies, do they eat each other? Or do the living dead starve to death? Sorry, I'm not up on zombie lore. At least the poor little girl will not have to face the horrible monsters. A hard decision for any parent.
You set the stage well. Good twist at the end, which upon consideration is the only possible sane conclusion--if anything about zombies can be sane.
You are the master of the the tinny tales of terror, as you prove once again.

I should know better than to read any of these tiny tales after sundown. lol
Increases my chance of nightmares. Think Daddy ought to go in the kitchen and either stick his head in the oven or sharpen a butcher knife.
