Creepy, Dean, but very good. I like the news blurb at the end. Might I suggested changing "elongated" in "...casting elongated shadows". It just sounds odd. Long shadows or eerie shadows or something else would work better, in my opinion. Great job!

Dean;
-again, you seem to be able to scare the wits out of the readers and do it in such a professional fashion. Your writing is right up there with the best of them where your cadence and timing of your writings story seem do grasp the readers attention tremendously right to the last word of your story.
-The imagery is truly an excellently expressive and vividly and exponentially descriptive throughout the writing.
-You've taken another chapter out of a book of terror.
-Thank you for sharing and posting this Dean and may the good Lord be with you always my friend.

You always have a great talent for the scary story! Well written and certainly frightening! You play on the fears of humans who always know that there is very little defense against an irrational mind! You leave a lot to the imagination after striking the match! The picture is definitely creepy and certain to raise a nightmare or two! Of all things to then add a video of Ozzy Osbourne! I wish you would have left out the four year old! :)

Hi Dean. A very (dare I say) enjoyable tale! Out of the mouths of babes. Constructed well with "edge of your seat" dialogue and plot. Author's note is clever and interesting as well. Good job. Marilyn

Oh! Dean, I'm so ashamed again to show up at your mind-step with nary even a sorry six to offer for another one of your TENS! This on is really special in being quick and simple yet gripping as a Kodiak Bear. You definitely know how to pluck those strings of the banjo of curious minds! Thanks! Vance

No worries, Vance my friend. Hardly anyone has any sixes to award anybody this late in the week. Heck, I ran out on Tuesday! They only give us six of 'em, you know? I just appreciate you taking the time to read it, and I hope you were entertainined, that's all.
Thanks again...~Dean :}

Ok, Dean, I was very careful going down your steps...one at a time with spooky looking at me. I'm going to run with that little girl...ahhhahhh! Very intense, well written, suspenseful, scary, good for your book...even the Koootz guy would like this. Are you blushing? Hope that you make a lot of money in your scary books. We must listen to the kids, they know. Kids even see demons at the door and in bedrooms. I have open Bibles in every bedroom and even under the mattresses. You need to do this. I read mine out loud! Keep Elijah Streams music on with your computer when you type... peaceful. Back and Mozart are good too. I like Jesus culture too. God bless! Sweet sleep, my friend! flylikeaneagle

Sounds as if Jenny heard the news before the music started playing. Certainly, that bulletin would be on day. Great job of capturing the baby talk. Corny joke in the notes. Aaargh. Nice dancin' music though. :-)

An entertaining flash fiction, Dean.
the last thing he saw in his short, young life were a pair of white, maniacal eyes [Powerful line.]
Good job.

Great addition Dean for these Tiny Tales. Great artwork of Kellar Shares, and who would want to meet him in a dark cellar. Your author notes gave me a chuckle to finish off this great little read.

Cellars are meant for storing potatoes, beets, dead bodies and ghouls. Only possible reason to get potatoes would be staving off a Zombie Apocalypse and certainly require carrying a Mac 9 with a hair trigger.
Tiny Tale of Terror ... nah ... just enough to get the 'fear juice' working in your head and gut and deftly encourage you to sleep with a gas-powered nail gun under your pillow. Had a cellar in our house when I was young - I'm still not over the dank smell and hidden terrors that were housed under our little feet.
Nicely done...AT=/

Thanks, Jean. My Granny Cook had a root cellar. Creepy place, and I know that odor of which you speak all too well, my friend. Much obliged for the review! :}
