This is beautiful and touching and a most wonderfully crafted sonnet. I loved reading it and know Brooke will also enjoy it very much. She is not only a wonderful poet, but an excellent teacher as well. I hope she knows how much she is missed. I think this poem is a perfect tribute to her talents.

Thank you so much my dear ... I took special care with this one. Brooke is so missed.
Thank you, too, for your lovely sixer. Coming from such an accomplished poet as yourself, it is something very special for me.

This is a great sonnet and tribute to Brooke. Your poem captured the sadness "the losses of old age," but you also "celebrate each day I love." Your rhymes and lines are simple and heartfelt. Your poem urges us to dance each day and not worry about the "time of shadow's end." Thank you for sharing and for caring. Brooke would love your poem.

The mystery continues as we wait for Brooke to renew her strength. This is well written with very good imagery and descriptive scheme. Brooke, you are loved.

visionary1234: such a beautiful poem fitting for our Queen of poetry, Brooke. I'm sure she will be proud of the skill you have used to bring her encouragement and love. livelylinda

and time of shadow's end are ruled by chance,
I'll fiercely love the sunlight ... and I'll dance
Brooke has the gift of seeing the world in beautiful colors and has shared that with us, over and over.
Well done. A tribute of magnificent proportions to her.

I love the contrast of the low feelings and contemplation of age in the first verse with the decision in the last verse to embrace life and dance. We all feel this way, and sometimes within the same day. It is hard not to let life get you down, so thank you for the inspiration to remember that happiness is a choice.

Excellent poem. I enjoyed reading your writing.
Just yesterday, the losses of old age
seemed merciful, with gradual decline
and time of shadow's end are ruled by chance,
I'll fiercely love the sunlight . . . and I'll dance . . .

An entry into the sonnet poetry contest, and also a great tribute to Brooke.
Your cleverly chosen words are beautiful, especially the title, you also used in culminating your well-written sonnet. Good luck in the contest.

Love the way it flows and its tight rhyme. I'm not sure she'd agree that the shadow's end is ruled by chance, but she might just be itching to dance her way back to her computer.
