G'day mate. This is a fabulous Sonnet, a form of poetry that I love but can't write. The flow is terrific and the story superb as well. I also enjoyed your notes as thay are a great history lesson. Well done, cheers Fez

Through a nice sonnet, you have penned the interesting story of Jason emerging as victor despite heavy odds. Your author notes on the Greek mythology are very absorbing. I liked the word Argonaut ringing the more familiar Astronaut. The sonnet ends with a wise message: 'For not all conquerors use sword and shield. Great power reigns in strains the Muses wield.'

Thank you for the kind comments about the writing. I am happy you enjoyed reading the poem and the notes to explain the myth. I appreciate the insights about the argonauts and astronauts. I had not considered that before. Both sailed into the unknown to face great danger. I appreciate the comments about the ending. Thank you!

Great power reigns in strains that muses wield. Muses bring luck. So it's not all about the fight. A lot of it is left to chance. That's what I took from it. I liked it.

Nicely done. Love the Orpheus and Eurydice myth, or my own variation on it. Like to see it used, referred to. Did you know Beethoven's Fourth Piano Concerto is a musical version of the myth?
Have no sixes to share with the rowers.
Thanks

Thank you for the encouraging review. I appreciate the mention of sixes.
I love the Orpheus and Eurydice myth as well. In fact, I started a poem for this contest on that myth and then saw that someone else had already entered a sonnet based on it. That's when I switched over to Orpheus and his battle with the Sirens. I appreciate you stopping by to read and review. Debi
