You must speak for hundreds of FanStory widows and widowers. And the football wives thought they had reason to complain. The signs of obsession are so keenly observed her especially the enjambing line. Sadly, member dollars don't work at Kroger's either. And tell me about the old credit card debt mounting up. I'm glad the missus had a chance to have her say, and thought she should have been allowed longer than ten minutes. My husband can't complain about the time I spent on the computer, because he spends even more time on his ordering stuff from Amazon. Great post. judi

Pleased that you enjoyed it. Some great points that, all kidding aside, are right on the money. Thank you kindly. Mrs. Mikey

You're so welcome. Hope Mrs. Mikey will have her own PC that she can spend as much time on as she wants. judi

He told me not to admit it. He said that he might get some sympathy sixes if they think it is his poor suffering wife. If they knew she was tied to a chair doing reviews they wouldn't like it. So, okay, we're good here. Thank you very much. Mikey's Wife......

Dear, Mrs. Mikey.
You have an excellent sense of humour, and had me laughing aloud after reading many passages in this funny article. Wasn't there someone from the Monkees television show also called, Mikey? The references to "FanStory" are so well done, from staying up until three in the morning to Star days. This is a great humorous piece of writing! Thanks for a great chuckle!
Bye
Rosalyne :)

That really rings a bell about the Monkee's show. I can't quite recall what it was, but definitely there was some running Mikey gag. Glad you liked this. The stars look beautiful. Thank you so much!! Mrs. Mikey

It is a sad affair or obsession when posting on certain days is more important than the damn story, poem or essay just to hope to get six stars. :-( okay I will give you one for this, be happy for a moment. This will be the last six you'll get until Sunday! :-) Plus you better review me,or else I have plenty of 4's, (evil laughter is heard from within the room)

Thank God you hear the evil laughter too! I thought I was going crazy. Hahaha. Checked out some of your writing. Great stuff, I will be back for more. Appreciate the six. It does look quite nice. It does kill me though that I always get a better response for something I write for fun than I do for the pieces I slave over with a furrowed brow!! Thank you very much, mikey

Dear Mrs. Mikey;

If it's any consolation, I have a son, Michael, whom others refer to as Mike. I find that offensive, but as he is 39 years old and can change his name legally, there is little I can do other than to call him Michael. Incidentally, the meaning of the name is 'in the likeness of God.' Somehow, Mikey seems totally irreverent to that meaning, but your husband is a big boy and can call himself anything he wants--including Lion King, if he so wishes. I'm sure you have a few other names for him you'd rather not divulge in a public forum.

I completely understand that a person discovering a writing community often, for the first time in their lives, has a group of like-minded individuals that share a passion for the written word, may become emotionally orgasmic at having an willing audience.

You might take some solace that your husband's obsession isn't for one of the porn sites, but in reality the addiction is exactly the same.

I have no way to help the writer, but I may offer some encouragement for you. I'd suggest you Google 'Writer's Digest' and order their 2014 Almanac--imagine how appropriate that is as a birthday gift and guaranteed to light up his eyes. This very thick tome is filled with lessons and chapter after chapter of publishing information.

Encourage your husband to get out in the real world--of writing, and begin to submit his stories to publications that actually pay for articles, stories and poems. Out there, he'll get the kind of feedback or rejection that he needs to take his writing to the next level. FS is a very small pond and it is actually very easy to get caught up in one's own glory on this site, but it may be delusional as it is a friendly group, in general, and doesn't offer authentic feedback.

You might also remind Michael that if he wants to take HIMSELF seriously as a writer, he needs to adopt the disciplines, in the same manner that he has been held accountable in any job. There are business hours that are generally accepted in business and while certain projects might require overtime, trying to introduce a discipline to the time he spends writing will improve other areas of your life and give him far more to write about by exposing him to other life events happening around him.

Good luck with your efforts.

This is some wonderful advice. I will see that it is followed. Thank you very much. This was mainly for fun, but naturally there is always truth within humor. Your response is very much appreciated.

It was definitely funny, witty and had a definite beat to the 'poetry' section. I just decided to answer it with a more sober reply.

Target has an express register the accepts FanStory funny money. This was a good write. It had me laughing, especially the innuendos of poetry terms and its relation in the bedroom.

Very well written, Mrs. Mikey...

John

If I had a six i would give it to he. This is not right YOu need time with your dear wife. Fanstory is addictive and that is really not good. It is expensive. Either you spend 100 dollars out of your pocket to post one poem or your work your finger tips off and lose your sleep too. I sked Tom why it was so expensive he said FS does not set the price he writers do. So think about it we are in control but we let our ego take over and cost us. It could be money but LOL it could be a spouse. Get with it and get addicted to your wife again

You are right. I guess I should untie her and take her to dinner maybe. I figured out what it costs to get to the top spot on the front page. Wow. That is a lot of money. My wife would kill me for real. It is addictive though, you are correct there. I have never had anyone read my writing before, so it is fun. Thanks for your insights. I will try to stay somewhat sane! mikey

This was hilarious. I'm sure we can all identify with mikey on this one. At least he's still able to perform an enjambment without assistance. Hope he has a good flow and imagery as well as a good rhythm in that department. :)

Hells yes, and at my age too. She should be happy I'm not off coupleting by myself. (is that a word?) He has the imagery, Rosie Perez.

Dear mrs Mikey
My hubby has taken up Fanstory as alternative childhood as well. He uses two iPads and a PC to ensure that he can check his status and mail in most rooms as he passes through. My husband won't be getting any of the enjambment or assonance stuff either. He'll be lucky ever to create couplets again if he doesn't get unplugged. You are doing wives a favour by posting this letter. Maybe we should take closer notice of what's going on. I believe there's a lovely young man called Marillion giving meter age to women. Could be rather romantic.
Lovely reading your letter,
Mrs Marky

Marillion huh? I hear he is quite the rogue. Could be just what I need! I'm not looking for anything long term. Hell, send him over. Could be right here in my room. Mikey won't even look up from his computer screen. Tanka very much! Mrs. Mikey
