You did it! An un-rhymed poem! I can't do it to save me. I like it a lot. Six stars worth because it is something I could have written myself!(But I would have had to rhyme which limits what you can say. Good job Sandra. Nancy

aww Nancy, thank you!! I changed it a few times, I just wasn't sure if there were any rules. If there are, I expect someone will enlighten me! LOL, and you could easily write one! Thank you my dear friend for the lovely review and the six stars!!!!! xsx Sandra

nice poem, the classics of the year seasons metaphor used well in this case. I liked that the end was not pessimistic, but you ended it with grace.

You have written unrhymed quatrains girl and very well I might add. If you had so wanted, they could be free verse but them you would not have so much structure to them. At any rate, they are wonderful.

Thank you, Gungalo. I never know if they have rules, the free verse, I mean. I once wrote one, or thought I did and someone came back and said that because there was some rhyme in it, it wasn't free verse! So I don't know what is. Thank you for saying you enjoyed it, I always appreciate the reviews you write me. Thanks Gungalo! xsx

Very nicely done and a poignant message laced with hope. I can say at 76 you are on the right track mentally. I would hope you have seen the wisdom of seeking God and maturing in faith as well. God bless you, Dennis

I have and would not be able to live my life without Him. He has my husband and my dad, if I didn't have faith, I would be totally desolate. Thank you, Deniz for your wonderful review! Bless you for your kindness too! xsx Sandra

Hi Sandra - free verse, but written so smoothly that it really flowed well. You write of something I think about every morning when I shave. Who is that old fart staring back. Bill

I just loved your review! oh dear, why do these mirrors tell so many lies? I am sure I don't look like my mirror says I do! LOL. I suppose we have to be thankfull we are not the ones looking at them all the time. Thank you, Bill, for your brilliant review! xsx Sandra

A very lovely picture for this poem.

The poem itself is beautiful. I like that there isn't any regret about aging, how you take it all in stride.

I'll smile a smile that tells them all
I am now where I want to be.

I love this because it speaks of calm, happy acceptance. No point in running from aging, just looking back at a full life, lived well, and being glad for what will come. It's very lovely, and that you've set it as a comparison to the seasons, doubly so.

Wonderful.

Your poem is encouraging for a reader of any age.
Your rhythm is consistent and your words flow smoothly.
You'll have to write a poem about the summer of your life next, but you have given a beautiful message about these seasons we all have to endure. Truly, God has purpose for us in each part of our lives.

Hi Sandra, I wanted to let you know hat Jill(Fuller) has a very bad Gallbladder infection. She may have to have it removed. Your prayers would be greatly appreciated.
reply by the author on 26-Jan-2013
Thank you for letting me know, of course she will be in my prayers and thoughts. My mother had hers removed four years ago,so I know how awful it must be for her. Thank you again for letting me know. Sandra
