reminds me one of favorite quotes
"I would never want to be a member of a group whose symbol was a guy nailed to two pieces of wood."
-- George Carlin
Obviously you are upset and your rant shows how much exasperation you feel at the unfairness of life on planet earth. It's probably worth remembering that humans don't really need a reason like 'religion' to kill one another. Most conflicts, when it comes down to brass tacks -- have little to do with religion as their root cause. Religion just helps fire up the masses or demonize the 'enemy'.
I don't think I'd call religion itself 'evil', but perhaps 'dangerous'. I hope you find a way to relax and put the world in perspective! It's not going to get dramatically better any time soon, so we must learn to accept it and fight the small fights -- while still remembering to enjoy our time on earth too!

Interesting words, Zee. Never been a big fan of religion and in some cases, it certainly is evil. Loved the author's note.
Hilarious.

CONVICTION BEYOND CONVENTION, CONVENTION BEYOND CONVICTION!
I liked this essay (non-fiction), the easy said topical endeavour.
I enjoyed the cultural cult conventional convent customary custom and convictional conviction of concording concord of subjective subject of thoughts.
I could not enjoy the concurring concordance of concording customary thoughts of convictional convention of God as an object-thing-phenomenon-mortal like existence meant for mortals and mortal good.
I found the very concept of treating God is just like a matter of argumentation, cause of all objects of mortal happiness or causal factor of mortal living fulfilment thing.
I could not enjoy the treat of emanating concept of God at the grace of scripture man-made.
I could not accept the mode-manner-method-mentality-mortal mind-mood-modal treat of God as if God is liable-responsible for all free-will of human activities.
I could not enjoy the separation symphony stand state status standard standing scope syntax and simplification of God versus religion and God versus man as well God and mortal living.
I found in terms of the objective theme and plot of argumentative and fallacious thoughtful and thought provoking the endeavour is appreciable as far as scientific reasoned and logical expressiveness with illustration to make and prove it a conviction.
I enjoyed the cultural threats, conventional falling, religious practice downfall and many other states of human falling from the destined state of humanity and making God as a matter of faith and belief.

Zeezeewriter, we think alike but you are so much better at expressing your outrage at the sanctimonious believers among us than I. I am so sick of dogma being spewed about as if mortal man had no influence on the so called "holy" books and every word in whatever version one's religion chose to deem "true" came verbatim from some deity. As one who has questioned the sanity of all this nonsense for eons, I salute you for your clever and wise opinion piece. I long for the day when holy war is just an oxymoron and not actually a moronic exercise of true believers in a deadly pissing contest.
Keep the campfire blazing; the night is long and cold.

This author notes bit was hysterical: I don't do God's with bad tempers. I have a bad enough temper of my own. Am I a God?
clock [cloak?] of religion
superior, in there [their] belief
Love the end, the 'you may have to count on us atheists'--great line. You point out the hypocrisy of organized religion, all sides, well. :)

Thanks darlink.. I fixed the spaggies you pointed out. I write fairly tart with spirits, but my spelling is less than adequate. Man distorts God .. not the other way round. Zee

Amen, sister. That's why I don't subscribe to anyone's bullshit. Just my own. :)
