Nice depiction of summer in this story. Easy to follow and saw no mistakes. Sweet ending with a baby named Summer. I
Like stories filled with kindness. Good job. Jean

This was an excellent story Carol and you
feel as if you know this girl and would
like to know more. I know it was a contest
entry but I am sure this could be developed
wonderfully. He is at war and maybe his
experiences could be followed, while she
at home would have different worries to
contend with. Well done this was great...

It's a possibility. But first I have to write a romance novel for that contest with the publishing company. I like suspense so I don't know how a mushy story will turn out. But I won't forgive myself if I don't at least give it a shot. Thanks again for the review. Carol

What a wonderful story. I love the descriptions and the wonderful way that it unfolded. I wonder if her husband knew about the preganancy. Well done.

I couldn't decide and I thought if he knew and wrote about it in the letter, it would have ruined the suspense at the end.
I am so honored by your gracious review and the stars. Thank you so much. Carol

Hello Begin Again
wht a pleasure to read a down to earth story about a woman who loves and cares for other people, has a hubby who is away and finally gives birth to a child
Love the easy to read dialogue and in fact the whole story is so good.

I am so pleased that you enjoyed the story. I'm not sure where it came from this morning, but somehow I needed to write it and it fit the contest. Thanks again Carol

A very well written story. A young woman expecting a child is missing loved ones who has past, or at war. Very good imagery and descriptive scheme. Good luck in the contest.
Error:
if you (your) mom says anything."
beans were safely placed in (on) the back porch

What a full and glorious day to spend on the day she delivers!!! To think, most of us nowadays spend hours and hours and hours in the hospital leading up to the big event.
This is just such a lovely story filled with beautiful descriptive detail, wonderful dialogue, warm characters - and great progression toward the triumphant ending :-) Brooke

Oh thank you so much. This story came to me this morning after my daughter was talking about all the horror stories from a baby shower yesterday. I wondered how they ever did it before modern medicine...some had their babies in the fields. Anyhow, I decided to write this. I am so pleased that you enjoyed it. Carol

Carol, as usual, you've written a very beautiful story. I especially enjoyed ehe ease and the comfort you provided as I read along. Your writing always gives me a sense of being in the scene. What a wonderful ending that I did not see coming. I love the name Summer.

I was afraid it might seem to slow with so much description and little conversation...but it's kind of hard to talk to yourself in the fields. Glad you enjoyed it. Smiles, Carol
