Hi Beth Shelby. this reads like a Steve Martin movie. AND, don't think I don't sympathise with your husband. On these occasions, we try to keep out of the way; weddings make women demented.
Nice story, and from a point of hindsight, amusing. (sorry)

There are a couple of things I'd like you to consider:

And no, he couldn't call them and uninvite them because they were already on their way. - uninvite is not a nice word (if it's a word at all!). better - the invitations could not be rescinded.

He grabbed an old beat-up coffee()pot and a hot plate(,) and headed for our upstairs bedroom.

Figuring no room would be off-limits once the mob arrived(;) I grabbed the offensive pot and attempted to shove inside the vanity cabinet.

But with the help of 911, (called because we couldn(')t move him down the sharp angled staircase)

A nice read. Well done.
Regards, Pete.

Pete, Thanks for the review and the comments. I have fixed the things you suggested. I knew "uninvite" was not a word and I sort of coined it because that is excactly what I told my son to do. "Well, go uninvite them." But due to your suggestion, I did change it.

Unorganized to began with to begin with
She invited 75 people to your house without telling you first???? LOLOL
This is true or fiction? Your hubby really fractured his hip as rehearsal dinner guests were arriving? How horrible.
we couldn=t move him couldn't
your very last sentence needs a question mark
Well, if I were your husband I'd be a bit pissed too!!! As with all your family stories, my attention never strayed - I'm starting to feel like I really know them. Brooke

Where do you come up with these (humorous) horror stories? Is your claim that they are biographical true? Excellent narrative, Bethshelby
