Hi Brooke. This is a powerful naani post. Apt artwork and potent metaphor for our country's state of financial affairs.

This should do well in contest.

WOW>

No nits.

Love, rd

Your poem is right on the money. The Liberals have always wanted control of the white house, congress and senate, all you out there that vote him, this is doing. I hope you proud of your vote. I just lost my local government job last week.people like me are afraid to tell what we know. It's only going to get worse, but one good thing, your writing is getting good!

"For Sale" is an eye opener and shocking story that's unfortunately so true. It wouldn't be the first time our elected officials lost common sense. After all, they give themselves big raises and pensions few in the private sector ever see.

Ouch. Great job. You deliver a poem that is short and directly to the point. it causes the reader to think. This is ust what should be required of poetry.

I couldn't agree with you more on this one. The poem was well written. I can't believe how quickly many Americans have come to accept this rampant defeciet spending. It seems to me like the current powers that be could not hurt America more if they tried. Good job- Sam

And just to think that only a few months ago, all the news was full of rage over the previous administration's spending. It's child's play relative to what's happening now. I really am in shock. Thanks for your review. Sue

I expect the media will continue to give Obama a pass until we are flat broke. I can't get over all the hype about him. I yelled at my own father for his praise of the man. I told him he either needed to get cable or quit watching the news and regurgitating the tired obama hype.

ahhh...Lets not auction her off yet. This is very well done and an excellent Naani poem with a great picture to illustrate it. The debt is upsetting but I'm not ready to write our country off yet. No one else out there has the money to buy her unless it is China and I think they are backing away.

I know the "auction" thing is strong, but it was my way to make the point of our dire situation. And it is dire. This is my "protest"! Thanks for your review. Sue :-)

I more than agree with the notes
we cant afford to make a weapon
or refill our own banks
but we can loan it also to everyone
and worse
we can cut jobs and send it all over seas
and expect our own country to heal
okay soemone isnt playing with all the deck
because even a simpleton like me
knows this is not going to work
and if we crash
i blame the whole government
oh btw
are they really going to give themselves
more of a pay raise or am i lost here
lol
i dont think they earn the one they got
i sit daily
and count pennies to buy food
and pay my own mountin bills
and get my hours cut
and i only make minimum
great poem
i got so involved
thanks
sorry though i hadn't planned too

I'm sorry you have had your hours cut. That's a direct hit on you. And we have not seen the worse yet. Every month, the unemployment figures are rising. A better "stimulus" would be to give DIRECTLY to the people for IMMEDIATE "tax vacation" for 6 months. And with all those trillions, the govt. could have written a check for $10,000 per family. Now, that's what I call an immediate remedy to the people! But, no. The gave it to AIG!! I'm so angry, I have to write about it!! Hope things go better for you soon!! With warmest regards, Sue

dear sue.. i agree so deeply
my own taxes in NY make me pay back money i don't have to spare.
I had hoped to get a stimulous like many kids at the store who live with parents
instead i was told we will get a four hundred tax credit
but when we get that won't we be pay8ing next year for it
    i dont know
they said it averages out to about fourty more dollaras a month but how does that truely help us
    when we work now
    and we have higher bills
    that will stay high
the whole program is not helpeful
and yet the politicians don't hear us
they dont even pay the taxes we do
they dont pay into social secruity
i pay three times per week
with the programs they have in NY
    sad
the people need to have more voice
and i say rant if you need it
    enough of us do
maybe they will finally hear us
let the public rise up like the million man march
and say .. give us some help
