Fickle fame~somtimes one struggles for years to become an overnight sensation, sometimes it happens in a flash~right time, right place~many people crave it, yet get upset at the intrusiveness of it, many can't handle it. You have presented the downside, there's always a price to pay. Nicely presented, great rhyming. Well done!

I'm pretty thin skinned any my feelings get hurt easily so I don't have any desire for the limelight and all the trappings that go with it.
I definitely believe that being famous can be a curse.
Very nicely written nomi with a perfect picture of the fame you describe.
Blessings

-Great artwork and nice presentation, nomi.
-He is one good looking superstar!
-Your notes are appreciated.
-You wrote an excellent poem about fame.
-Effective imagery and rhyme and a
good job with a couple of repeating lines
to get your point across.
-A very good beginning showing
how a celebrity feels about being
singled out wherever he goes.
-"Reality behind the fantasy" is
an excellent way to describe that feeling.
-You also show how gossip comes into play,
and it hits all the gossip columns and magazines.
-Toward the end the superstar is on the outs
of the in crowd he was used to being in
and has lost favor and friends.
-You end the poem well with the repeated refrain.
-Very well done. I like this very much.

It is like being in a race, once you start, you have to keep running until you get to the end. In other words, you should know, acceptance requires a person to, even in bad times, give them what they want to see or hear.
You have a nice picture and good luck with your poem.

There are definitely problems that come with being famous, but there are also great rewards. I guess you have to balance it out and be appreciative of all you have. A great subject to explore.

Thank you. This is the third version of this poem. I have adjusted and rewrote it several times,.
Comment from Debbie D'Arcy
This is a clever, insightful look at the curse of celebrity. Your repeated lines reinforce the concept of an automatic existence constantly concealing the fading reality of the individual. Some excellent imagery of dancing and spinning to fantasy's tune. I particularly like: Yet, behind the curtain as shadows start to creep/my grip on my celebrity; I fiercely fight to keep (lovely rhyming fluency). Beautifully presented, your imaginative post conveys its message of pay-back in an original and entertaining style. Thanks for sharing, Nomi. Take care Debbie

I agree being famous could be a curse. Many famous people don't handle it well and are far from happy. Probably the reason for so much substance abuse. Thank you for sharing this well written poem with us. You remain in my prayers. HUGS

In my eyes this is a true six star poem you have penned my friend. People don't realize the high cost they do have to pay. You used great descriptive words and the picture you chose went well with your words. May God bless you my friend! Teri

Thank you Teri. Your kind words encourage and uplift my spirits at a time when I tend to be low.

You are so welcome my friend. You will be in my prayers! I don't know how you feel, but I know I would be devasted too. Just know Jesus is holding you in the palm of His great big hand and He loves you so much more than anyone else could. One day you will see your wife again and I know that will be so much joy for you! Blessings, Teri

I thank you for your kind and compassionate statements. You are most kind.

My friend, I try to be a kind person, because I know there are so many hurting in this world today. I want to strive to be more like Jesus each day. That is hard to do at times, but when we realize Jesus was able to do it we know deep down inside we can be better people than we are at times. It don't cost a lot to be kind to someone that is hurting! May God bless you my friend! Teri

Your poem speaks truth. When you become a celebrity, you no longer belong to yourself. You belong to the people. If you are a comedian, people expect you to always be funny. If you are a singer, people don't want to hear what you think. They want you to sing. The examples are many. If you don't accommodate the people, they turn against you.
Many young celebrities have taken their own life as a result of the pressure. Remember Freddie Prinze, from the TV show Chico and the Man? He committed suicide at age 22.
I'm glad you shed light on this problem through your poetry.

Thank you. Although I am not famous and have never been, I have been close to certain celebrities and have had the chance to see them up close, and it was not pretty.
Comment from Brenda Strauser
I agree with you. I wouldn't want to be famous. A famous person don't have any peace. The media follows them everywhere. They look for negative things to write about them. Well written poem. I enjoyed reading it.
