This work has reached the exceptional level

You could not have chosen a better artwork to accompany this poem about a lover who's figuratively been ripped hollow and turned to stone by the person who left him. I can hear his pleading so clearly and anyone who has had such a loss will easily relate. That last line is so powerful! I'm competing in this contest, and this poem is so much better than mine. Rod

What a powerful image you have to go with your poem on loneliness, it's the perfect fit.

Empty.

Beautifully written I felt the hurt in your words and also anger and sadness along with the bitter loneliness.

Well done, a great entry for the contest, good luck!

That's a fascinating image and perfectly fits the anguish of your words.

'You left with so much more than I could spare'.
This is very profound.
'Before you turned the rest of me to stone'.
You have captured the essence and pain of desertion in a skilfully written poem. Well done.

Hi,

This looks like a good entry for the contest. Good luck with that!!

You did a good job of proving that the protagonist in this poem is alone and lonely

It's a good description at the bottom as somebody turning to stone which means they've turned all their feelings off and all their vulnerability is gone. They're not going to let anybody hurt them again which means they can't let anybody get close to them.
thus guaranteeing that he's alone, and lonely.

I don't know whether this is from personal experience, but I suspect it's not. I suspect you decided to write a poem where the protagonist is alone and lonely. But if it's true, I offer my condolences because losing a partner is just as bad as losing somebody in death.with one exception. In death there's no hope of reconciliation ever

I enjoyed reading your poem

Good job. Thank you for sharing.
