Oh that hurts to think about. I've had more times than I care to recall when I somehow erased a days worth of writing never to be found. Go ahead and cry because the hurt and tension have to come out somehow. Then let it go. You're a writer. The story is still there and no one can take that away. We promise to be patient to read it because we know it will most likely come out better the second time! You got this!

Thanks Marilyn. I was beside myself this morning. I cried so hard thinking that if I'd had only posted it instead of waiting.... But what ifs get me no where. Once I started writing this post, I calmed down and felt better. Yes, I can begin again and the story will come back to me. It wa just a scary moment.

Dear, dear Carol,
I know what it feels like to forget things, to have conversations I have no memory of, and etc. I know you write a lot, much more than I could possibly imagine. I'm sorry you lost your work. Big, big hugs from Texas. I feel your pain across the miles, and am praying for restoration of your work. If it makes you feel any better, you will probably find what you lost or rewrite something even better by the time I actually catch up to where you are in my reviewing!!
Love you much,
Rhonda

Thanks, Rhonda! Making my self grounded by writing the story helped. It's not like I can't write any more. It's just I get so invested in my stories, which I know you can understand, and doing something so stupid as losing it all really rattled me. So I wrote, added a bit of humor to laugh at myself, and calmed down.

Thank you for sharing this contest entry with us. Yes, it happened to me, once, and to be honest, I never found that book, but when I rewrote it, I honestly believe it was better than the original. I am positive that will happen to you. You're a very good author. Good luck with the contest.

thanks, Barbara. though I wrote this post first and then just happened to realize there was a contest for me to put it under...might as well catch two birds with one net.... before it's used on me. I can't imagine how it happened, but my heart was pounding so hard I thought I would pass out.
Thanks for reading...

I don't understand why, but I do believe things happen for a reason.
