Excellent poem about one of our dear writers here on Fanstory. Your use of words captures how much she is missed. I hope her cat is alright. "She loved the stars, moon and sun" is a great line that makes Jan come alive in your words and gives the reader a heavenly feeling.

Hi Elaine, I appreciate the very kind comments about our Jan's poem. Her and I spent lots of time on the phone together so I even have voicemails that I haven't listened to or thrown away yet. I just don't have the heart. Thanks again for all the kind words. Love, Debi

There's a special place in heaven for you, Debbie. Remembering someone on FS after they are gone is simply awesome. There's a special place in my heart for you too! I remember Jan and it's wonderful that she is not forgotten.
Smiles and hugs, Carol

Thank you for honoring Jan, and sharing what you know about her. I'm new to FanStory, so I never had the pleasure of communicating wih her. I hope she's reading your poem and smiling down on you.

I remember Jan. She was very good with her feedback. She never had a bad thing to say and was very encouraging in her comments. I know she missed her family and often wrote things where they were characters. This was a lovely poem for her memory. Gretchen

It's hard to believe it's been a year already...and on the other hand, it feels like an eternity since I've smiled at a delightful private PM checking in, or helping me with some glitch I had with editing or posting a YouTube tune or...well anything at all!
Thanks for remembering the date. We miss you, Jan!
You were the epitome of kindness on this site!

You know there is something that puzzles me about Jan. As close as we were, she always thought that everyone hated her. If I had a dime for all the times I heard her say those words. So I truly hope she can hear these sweet words that everyone is speaking about her. Lotsa love, Dear K. Love, Debi

I wrote a poem about sea glass, I recall. She said she'd never seen any, so I asked her for her address and mailed her some! You would have thought I'd sent her the Hope Diamond! She was so appreciative! I'm sure she sees now how loved she truly was!

I like your poem. It is nice to see that you remembered her. She helped me a lot and I did look forward to the advice from her. She was helpful and knew her info about poetry.

I'm so glad you wrote this poem in memory of Jan. Her name is still on my list of writers I posted on my wall to make sure I watched for things they wrote. (I stopped adding more fans because it was too upsetting when my messages were too numerous to read everything).
I just went back to Jan's eternal page and read her last posted story, called Home At Last, about Riley, a lost dog. I also read your moving review of her story. Thank you for this poem that inspired me to go to Jan's profile and spent a few moments with her through her writing.

Wasn't the song on there, Silence is Golden? I thought that was so fitting for her last song. Her silence is Golden to me. I will have to go read it again.
I miss her so much, as we talked on the phone all the time. In fact she had the cutest little accent and I still have all her voicemails on there,
I just don't have the heart to erase them, plus all the texts I kept sending her at the end begging for her to call me. I left voicemails too until I finally called the cops in her area and asked them to check on her too, but Y'vonne had done the same thing and she was gone by then.
She is just one that is hard to let go of. So thanks for all the kind things you said about her and her poem. Please take care of yourself. Just as in our home life we have acquaintances and good friends, and you are on the good friends list. Very good friend list, may I add. So thanks again. Love, Debi

Jan's passing was the greatest shock that one could, she missed her passed siblings more than anything, but you got no indication from her posts, she was lovely, seemingly unflappable, Dean Kuch was another shock, beautiful tribute Debi, blessings Roy

What a beautiful image, Debi, and your kind and thoughtful reflection in poetry marks this special anniversary. I didn't know her very well but I always had the impression she was the kindest, most unassuming lady anyone would know. Hopefully Abby is keeping well and in touch with her:) Well done, Debi. It unthinkable that it has been a year since she passed. So much has changed and happened.
She was an outstanding person, reader, writer and reviewer!
Right now she's hanging around with all the vets she's honored and written about over the years.
Jan, you are missed.
Debi, a fantastic tribute!
