Hi Pamusart,
I really enjoyed your poem portraying the confusion and emotional struggle of a woman with Alzheimer's as she interacts with her son, who she does not recognize. The use of rhyming couplets adds a poetic element that underscores the sorrow and tenderness of the situation. The narrative is touching and evocative, offering a glimpse into the challenges faced by both the woman and her son.

The story basically relates the mother's point of view, but abruptly switches to her son's point of view at the end of the first stanza. It may be worth revising.

Overall, a well-written poem - Terry

There's a lot of things in this world that can test people, so many afflictions that make life difficult, whatever the illness or unfitness for duties, so self care is important, beautifully written Pam, in impeccable meter and great rhyming and theme, well done, blessings Roy

This is a beautifully written poem about a very tragic subject. It is so hard to know those precious memories have been erased. For the son, there is the sad knowledge that someone who loved is all but gone and theres a possibility it could happen to him as well some day.

Beautifully written and from the realistic heart. Alzheimer's confuses and steals memories. Of course Lee will return, it's his Mother. One day (and the Drs are close) there will be a slight repair to the brain that will give back decency. K xx

Unfortunately scenes such as these are not uncommon, and I think the family suffers even more than the victim of Alzheimers and Dementia. It;s a very sad way to lose a loved one. Well expressed in very realistic terms, showing great insight into both their characters and their relationship. A fine and meaningful poem.

I know such people as Lee, heartbroken as they visit their parent with Alzeimer's. They still visit and show their love and sing to them and show them photographs to the shell of their parent. So sad! You told their story well.

This poem, A Man Named Lee, allows that the horrors of Alzheimer's strikes all people involved as the mind blanks out an entire life and marks the observers as forgettable.

This poem does a beautiful job of representing the heartbreak of Alzheimer's. It is a horrible thing for the patient but unimaginable for the family and friends who must watch as they are forgotten. Nicely written.

This is really good and a little sad (as Alzheimer's always is). I really like the call back to the height at the end, it really tied the poem together.

I'm so going to read this to my mom tomorrow. Alzheimer's stuff really touches her. I'm sure she'll love it.

Thank you especially for these six shiny stars. It made my day.

I hope it helped your mom. More importantly, I hope it helped you understand her better.
