I very well stood that this was fiction, however, it does make a valid point about what happens to young people when they run away from home and don't have a way to support themselves other than to do the things that this young lady did. We went on a mission to Cambodia to help in the rescue of children from slavery in in the fleshpots of Bangkok, it's a hard gig for many reasons, they train them in honest professions because they sell their kids because that are so poor, beautifully written Pam, blessings Roy

Your poem doesn't speak for itself; IT SCREAMS AT THE TOP OF ITS LUNGS for each of us to listen and not turn a blind eye to what's happening to our children out there in this big, scary world. It was not meant to be part of their lives, but the desire to grow up and do adult things took them down the wrong path and destroyed all sense of childhood and life. Your story is sad and heartbreaking but so true.

The sad part is this is only fictional in terms of the specific character, but not in terms of the scenario you describe. As always, you do your descriptions well, bringing out both the horror and the pathos in the situation.
I definitely think you're becoming the FanStory expert on the abab cdcd rhyme scheme, which can be very difficult to maintain. You make it look easy.
