How perfectly said, Debi! We can be so downtrodden by the things we deal with in life. I don't know a soul who doesn't feel hurt, doubt, or injured. There is a place where we all know we are unconditionally loved.
We'll feel discouraged if we look for it this side of heaven, although we have many angels among us. You gently remind us that we should rest awhile and let the sadness flow away. Heaven knows there is true happiness for all who believe!

Virtual six! Loved your thoughtful poem. We all have those unpleasant places where we were wounded and the evil one brings them up to cause us grief. But we know the Jesus gave us the victory over every place.

I love the imagery you have used for the poem, the heart with the flowing of beautiful colours, it represents your poem how the poem flows through your feelings of hurt from the past through to the positivity of wanting to put it behind you. You're very welcome Debi, it costs nothing to be kind does it. I see that the end of my text got cut off, to finish I was saying we all have some demons but we must try and put them to bed, you cannot change the past but we can cope and learn to love with better and live in the present and do our best!

The shame we feel and that makes us cringe is from the past, because God tells us psalm 103 that as far as the east is from the west he has remove our sin and will not remember it again, only good things, but our memory that smouldering remembers bad things, enjoy the moment, that's really the only time we've got, this is a wonderful reminder in God's we have no sinful past, beautifully written, blessings Roy

Yes, often the pain of previous years does come back to haunt us. I have often wondered why, especially when I've been sure I've handled it. I do believe it comes back for a reason. Probably another lesson I need to be taught. DANG!!!!! Thank you for sharing this beautifully written poem with us.
