I found this read a good shout out. I have seen people ignorance, standing on an accused prejudice: knowing the deal made to punish anyone seeking God. They project themselves as being God. The most superior in this existence. Once again, promoting an ass kick.

OK. That is certainly a consequence of openly expressed prejudicial actions. In this case the young black man did not choose to jeopardize his new employment opportunity by engaging in fisticuffs with someone who was in his neighborhood, while Ernest was nowhere near his own.

Prejudice is unacceptable under any circumstances, the funny funny thing is very few people, if any, are actually very pure anything, we are all mixed to some degree, people in our country who call themselves aboriginal, 75%.are mixed, mostly white, it seems to be fashionable. If one lives in America, aren't you all Americans, the minute one identified with one group or another, there are differences, it's as plain as the nose on one's face, there are so many areas that prejudice, not necessarily race, it can be as common as supporting football teams, even denominational Christians, or are they? Well done Nomi, blessings Roy

This story, though only partly biographical, is, of course, very real because racial prejudice shows little sign of abating. It demonstrates provocative aggression passed down and lauded by the family which, in turn, is a very alarming, often intransigent situation. I would extend this example further to bullying in general because, sadly, it's the case that hostile division is becoming an ever-increasing threat in our world.
Well done, Nomi, for this powerful portrayal of racial violence.
Take care Debbie

What comment can I make? Racial taunting and killing is rife in America. The whites have a short memory. It was their stealing of Africans for slaves in the cotton fields that started this. White man believes he is superior the the black man, nothing is going to change that. In my country our aborigines are fighting back after they were raped, murdered and taught "Jesus loves you" wear white clothes. The British brought disease to Australia. Thanks for sharing your story. Blessings, Kay.

Thank you Kay. At the heart of most hateful acts is that old devil greed. The best way for me to get much more that the other fellow is to get others who look like and think like me is to go against anyone who does not fit our appearance and then lte us go and take what they have and we will split the profits.

MY Dad used to say, "Do unto others before they do you." He was joking of course. Now it has come to pass. It's a sad, evil world that only Jesus can sort out and when He comes, everyone will be judged for hate. God is LOVE. Blessings my friend. Kay xx

You presented a very clear picture of the situation you described. The emotion and bias felt by the character are easy to follow, as is the message to be prepared to accept the consequences for your actions. The family history was a nice twist.

It is a lot more prevalent than many are willing to admit. Doctor Gates did a special called the Black Grandmother in the closet, where many Hispanics admitted to having a black grandmother in their family.

This post shows how inter-generational prejudice can escalate, even when it is not directly related to a specific person.
One fix I noticed:
You have 'brother Raul' in the second paragraph, but then in the next to last paragraph, you spell it like this: Daniel received an unexpected visit from his uncle Raoul,
So...I am wondering if you wanted it to look Latino or Middle-Eastern, spelling-wise.

No, it is a product of inconsistency on my part. I will fix it right away. Thank you for your review comments and the reminder to be more attentive in the future.

Your point is crystal clear. But this belongs in prose instead of poetry. A story of this length belongs in a biographical non-fiction or fiction take your pick. Also, I do not approve of using AI pictures since they do not contribute to creativity at all.
Otherwise, this is a superb message and one that sounds the alarm on racial prejudice.

Point 1. I admit that I was confused when I posted this, I never intended it to go into the poetry bucket.
Point 2. I have become a bit enthused with the use of AI for creating images. I have no intention of engaging in its use to any great lengths. I am merely curious as to how it might affect its integration into the process. I appreciate your input as always.

AI inhibits creativity. Its insidiousness is well considered the worst thing possible to happen in today's world.
    Please choose some other way.

Such a tragedy! And yes, we're all related since Noah so there's absolutely no reason for this kind of rage. It's sad that the prejudice was generational. This Uncle Sam was definitely a coward!
Great story, Nomi! Virtual six!!

Thanks you for your ever appreciated input. I have been a victim of this type of prejudice for so long that it no longer even bothers or surprises me.

It still bothers me that you are victim of such stupid prejudice! The most I get is dirty looks but that's due to the previous president's racially charged words. Let's pray that he never gets a chance at any office again!
