Thank you. Thanks for the catch. I will edit and correct it. I suppose snakes have a purpose in the scheme of things, but I haven't figured out what it is. Lol

Hi there, as a person who lives where we have lots of harmless snakes, I can't compare problems. After all our are what you call Gardner snakes. So I grew up with three brothers and learned how to catch them the same as I would a frog.
But it sounds like you truly have a problem with snakes. Wow, and they kill the pets and animals too. That is horrible. So this is one time I am not standing up for the snake which I usually do. LOL.. the snakes for you have got to go. Good luck with that and good luck with the contest. Debi

Hi there, as a person who lives where we have lots of harmless snakes, I can't compare problems. After all our are what you call Gardner snakes. So I grew up with three brothers and learned how to catch them the same as I would a frog.
But it sounds like you truly have a problem with snakes. Wow, and they kill the pets and animals too. That is horrible. So this is one time I am not standing up for the snake which I usually do. LOL.. the snakes for you have got to go. Good luck with that and good luck with the contest. Debi

Thank you, Wendy. Blue racers are harmless snakes with an attitude. I have often been chased by them, but I don't think they bite unless they are protecting young or irritated. If I didn't run, they probably wouldn't chase me, but I don't have guts enough to face them. Lol

St. Patrick did not eliminate snakes from Ireland because there were no snakes in Ireland. Haven't been for millions of years
Well, I did some interesting reading on it. So, your story helped me learn something
We had rattlesnakes on our property in two of my childhood homes. In Montecito, my dad killed nine rattlesnakes and gave the rattles to my brother. A tenth rattlesnake was killed by our gardener.
On a small hill near the house, there are stones laid down on the grave of a previous owner's dog A rattler killed the dog
I guess I'm not helping with your snake phobia am I? I always wondered why my parents would choose a property with rattlesnakes running around. Maybe they wanted to get rid of us

Thank you. No, you didn't help my snake phobia. Lol We have Michigan rattlesnakes, but they are few and far between. There is a myth that St. Patrick chased the serpents out of Ireland, but that's what it is; a myth.

I often wondered why Noah brought snakes and mosquitoes onto the ark. I'm probably as scared of snakes as much as you are. Fortunately I have never had one chase me. But I kneeled on one during a night raid when I was in the army very good rant. Good luck in the contest.

Yup, I am with you on this one. I hate snakes too, and probably if I see one in front of my I will die before he gets a chance to bite me. Anyway I have a good laugh reading your "snaky" encounters. Thank you for sharing and good luck with your writings and the contest. I wish I had a six.

This was a great rant, and I agree totally. But, could we include Australia in driving the snakes to who cares where. Thankfully I haven't had a lot of visits with snakes, but the few I have had put me off of them. Good luck in the contest,

Thank you. Yeah, I've heard about snakes in other countries or states. We have a Michigan rattlesnake, but they are few and far between. Blue racers will chase a person if they are provoked. They are not poisonous but they will bite. They have short fuses, too.
